Agreed, I look forward to seeing how it performs. It will be interesting to see how it compares to my Watsonian cafe racer which has a custom built engine using the Hitchcocks crank assembly, piston, race cams and 1 1/2 inch Fury Head.
Blimey ! Another one for the stable ? 😉 Nice looking bike VB 😍. Looking forward to the next video on this one. I hope the crank is ok ? Some did pack up quite early on those Electra's but that wouldn't be a problem for a man of your talents. I'm sure you've heard of PricePart Motorcycles ? He does a a Conrod kit for those. Last time i looked, the crankshaft was a throw item until i came across PricePart's. With regards to that Sprag Clutch problem, i'd be scared to use Electric Start. Apparently Hitchcocks do an upgrade. Am i telling you something you already know ? With regards to your Honda...... (Those injectors😮 ) , You done well there sourcing a spare set for $45 inc P&P👌👍👍 Off topic: You discovered a Czech guy whom is a bit of a dab-hand at electronics. He fixed your sat nav i think ? Is he local ? I'm wondering if he could fix my Samsung Tablet. I'd appreciate some contact details.
@ianwoollard9008 Unfortunately he has just won a contract to do all the warranty work for a major phone manufacturer and now won't take any other work on, so we are going to have to find someone else now. Only some of the AVL engines suffered from premature crank failure, due to a batch of faulty hardening on a batch of crankpins. A new crankpin soon puts them right if your unlucky to have one of the faulty ones.
hi i have the same bike 2006 1 owner from new 1200klm as you say in the video only 50 made mine is nubber 5 it has the 50yrs of mcn stikers on the side panels hope you sort your gearbox all the best murf
I had Enfield 350 superstar never seen another one , it had chrome tank , mudguard's , separate headlight speedo ( no Headlight/speedo Casing ) like XR and fork gaiters rather than shrouds . Previous had fitted Amal concentric Mk 1 and alloy barrel , it had flat Vincent bars ,I fitted Indian made chronometric look speedo , thought it looked nice in red/ chrome It was on a 1991 plate , Enfield dealer in our village reckoned it was Indian market only model
That's a very interesting bike Mr Brown . I remember Watsonian building these ( and other ) specials . It would be Andy to know who the friend in the motorcycle trade who sold it to you might be ? The gear oil pumps would be interesting to see . Is the engine a developement of the lean burn model ? It should sound good with the Goldie style silencer. Have fun riding it .
Yes, Andy is the man who got it for me! I couldn't possibly tell you that his surname is Tiernan as that would be telling!! The AVL designed engine is the lean burn effort, soon put to rights with a sensible Amal carb and a few jets!
REALLY nice. Whilst all bikes should be ridden, I would ""try it and store it"" !!! Some people ridicule bikes as orime6nts, but some are works of art One of my neighbours has a Ducati 911 in his bay window on a stand !! Myself, a Vincent engine would be my choice if I could afford it. Enjoy it whatever you do. Regards MikeN
the question is Why? yes cate racers look nice But back in the day, I had input into the no1 AMA plate winning Bullet the MOST they ever got out of that bike was 40 hp and that was using special fuel The Only record you would be putting on at the Ace cafe would be an LP
Would be interesting to know how you located that bike It certainly is a winner and a great addition to your stable Love to see it on the road and get your opinion then Thanks for sharing Regards from Florida
