Royal Family Attends Order of the Garter Ceremony (1994)

On 13 June 1994, the Royal Family took part in the Order of the Garter ceremony. Founded in 1348 and resurrected 600 years later in 1948, the tradition sees knights of the Most Noble Order of the Garter donning velvet robes and hats featuring white ostrich feathers to participate in a colourful procession. Of the Royal Family, taking part in that year's ceremony were Queen Elizabeth II; Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh; Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother; Prince Charles, Prince of Wales; and Princess Anne, Princess Royal. They were joined by civilian members including former prime ministers Sir Edward Heath and James Callaghan, The Lord Callaghan of Cardiff as well as Peter Carington, 6th Baron Carrington.

The decade of the nineties is like no other in history. They were beautiful and strange years, and most people lived in them before the era of the Internet and alternative media. They were long years that were like dreams. I don’t remember much of them because I was a child at the time, but I remember some of them and 50 years have passed.😢😢

@@Crymeariver227 I mean, time in that decade passed very slowly and you felt it was long, unlike today, in which we live in a time of speed, the Internet, and things that distract you and waste your time, and you do not feel that. ✋🔴🔴🔴

@@Taker1995HD thnx for the clarification! I was having a mental math crisis when I first read that; however I get your point and don’t disagree. As nice as the internet made some things, it’s caused so much mental stress for most who really know nothing otherwise. I’m happy I had a couple of decades without all of it and don’t let it possess all my time now.

The only people in the entire ceremony who can't manage to march in step are the knights of the garter.
