At around the 2:25 mark, a man places a stroller near the edge of the road and the trooper speaks to him saying sir, these are pretty young horses…she seems to be indicating that he might want to move the stroller back. It’s hard to hear everything she says but she also says thanks, just so you are aware. It makes sense that the horses require a lot of on the job training in order to learn to deal with all the sights and sounds they will encounter. Thanks for posting, viewing from Bangor, USA.

The horse is not being “naughty”. Just a young horse in training. It’s always interesting to listen to a person that doesn’t know horses describe this. ( Good job, by the way, you got the most important part - stay away from horses, unless you know the rider and the rider says it’s ok to come close.) All is well, and most people have no idea what it takes to train a young horse.

Yes - my thoughts as well. Just a baby learing about the bigger world. Not even an overly large horse and not near anyone he could hurt. Ever watch a parent try to hold a bored child still, or quiet, during some important event? Much the same thing. Beautiful animal - will be fine with time and experience.

Every horse has a different personality, just as humans do, and some are naturally more skittish than others. Some don’t adjust easily to new situations-I’m sure everybody knows people like that-while others are naturally calm and don’t get flustered or upset in new environments. The horses may be in the middle of assessment to see if they’re right for the job or not. Dogs being trained for any human service also have to go through the same personality assessment, and then an ability assessment before being chosen.

I absolutely love the dappled grey! Gorgeous horse! It’s always interesting to find differences between British and American English, and the use of “floor” both inside and out is one. In the US, “floor” is only used for inside a house or other building, and “ground” is used for outside.

Why? Age, inexperience, could be his first time out. Maybe he doesn't like the hard ground. The noise. Could be a smell. Maybe he would rather be in a paddock. Perhaps he's only just broken in. All manner of reasons. Maybe he's just pissed off cause he had his feed bag taken off him. All that said, I've noticed he kicks off when the sergeant starts yelling on the parade ground. Don't think he likes the yelling. All manner of reasons

Doesn't want to be the last horse? Perhaps he'd prefer to be up front. I had a horse once that wanted to be in the middle of the pack. Also some bit of tack may be pinching him. So many reasons. I would have tried some reassurance.

Sydney Australia at 3 o’clock Monday afternoon. There is always one isn’t there. There are many reasons for this horses behaviour. Different sounds, sore back, irritation in the mouth, even the changing of the guard horses play up like this and they have been doing it for a long time. The other day one was playing up because there was a protest of people shouting in the street yet the other horse just stood there. You can never tell with them for they are a flee animal, like guinea pigs. See size does matter. 😊

A horse with brown body, black mane and tail is called a BAY not a "brown" horse. The lighter bodied horse with black mane and tail is a bright bay. The horse behaving badly is just resisting. They have no other way of telling us they don't want to do what they are being asked to do.

You mentioned their attire, that is hunt attire. What riders wear for fox hunts, horse shows etc. These horses are in excellent condition. What people do not realize is they are working hard. Standing still in one place for extended periods is very much against their natural instincts. Standing still in one place with heavy weight on their back is very difficult and against their natural instincts. Riders and horses very well-trained at a very difficult task. All that head tossing---attempted pain relief. Cured a horse of head tossing my years ago by finding a muscle knot and releasing it. Hard to find But releasing made for a happy horse and happy rider

It's a personality thing. That horse is a doer and also still taking charge rather than settling into being part of the herd. He's very aware of things around him and is quite reactive. His lash out was caused by the fact he backed into a plastic bollard which surprised him. He's fine but he has lots of work to do in order to become settled or he may be a touch too much for this work and better suited to a faster paced environment. Which ever way he is a stunner.

Horse is sensitive and experience and exposure to events and triggers like this will give it a chance to develop a higher tolerance level. It is trying to get away, a natural response, but handling it calmly and well like this will teach it to tolerate stimulating situations and to trust its rider to keep it safe.

Some horses are just more high strung or easily bored so don’t like waiting, also it could just be that horse and rider aren’t well matched, some riders - for no reason - get horse more on their toes (called having an electric bum) I am one of them so I always rode quite horses those on the lazy side as they would go for me, if I rode high strung horses it got quite lively. By the way a tan horse with black mane and tail is a bay.

Ha! Not heard the term Electric bottom for a while. It is a thing, isn't it? Kinda why when you train horses you need to introduce the young horse to various riders. A horse that behaves like a softy for one rider, might hightail it off with a more high energy rider. So interesting watching your kick along cutie suddenly move it up a gear or three. And then when they turn into a buckeroo, you think; Yeah, don't think I need to learn that superpower! Fun times.

The loud noise in the background can spook the horses and this is probably a horse who is more of a go horse than a woah horse and when there is a go horse it’s a spook horse and this horse seems to be very sensitive. The other horse in front seems to be a bit sensitive but not to the point where it’s bucking and rearing .The two horses with the horse starts to move over and start acting up . Also don’t stand behind the horse without knowing the horses history because they can kick any time they want.Hope this helped😊.

Young horse probably, unnerved by the shouting from the barracks. It's instinct would be to run, so it's hard for it to be made to stand. Hence the battle for its head so it can get away. Good control by the rider.

5:08 So For horses spooking is a natural response to being startled or afraid of something In the wild spooking helps them flee from danger very quickly Other factors, such as excess energy, pain, or vision issues. And certain objects such as ,noises, a new touch,,movements and Things horses have never seen before may increase a horse's propensity to spook. And at 7:45 “that’s not a happy horse” the horses was scared! Because it’s a new environment with thousands of new things going on :) and as the lady said at 2:27 the horses were young horses in training and they’re actually very well behaved even the horse that was scared .

By just looking at the ears, the horse isn’t in an aggressive state. And the reasons I have come up with for this horse acting out is: the bit is uncomfortable, the tack is pinching the skin, the rider is in an uncomfortable position, he’s lame (injured in a place that could or could not be noticeable), simply the people walking around, the man yelling (orders maybe?), or simply that is just a skittish (nervous and cautious by nature).

It's a young horse being desensitised. It's good for both the other horses and the horse in question. It helps the others not respond to other horses the same way or in scary or difficult scenarios. The one in question being calmly shown it's ok there is no boogy man going to eat it and it remains unchanged when U escalate it behaviour, like a young kid if they think a tantrum gets them out of work they will try. Also horses are flight animals so things that are not usual to them may cause them to flee and not every horse is suitable for this environment like us some of us are better than others at jobs. It also trains them to think rather than respond which U want a thinking horse. Also as something unique and I'm not sure why horses usually (not always) are scared by prams/ strollers, wheelchairs, umbrellas, push bikes just to name a few. And require desensitisation to these. I have service horses that we take into hospital wards and aged care etc and I do a lot of training around these. Mine are taught to walk up steps and go in an elevator/lift. Which U train just like this.. calm reassurance to the stimuli and doing it often. The rider was great in his cues by not pushing to much and providing reassurance whilst still asking the question till the horse responds as needed. Hope that helps
