We are very fond of them in Denmark. They are both very popular and our Queen Margrethe II is very fond of both her daughter-in-laws. Unlike other royal families who shall not be named, ours is fortunately not plagued by repeating scandals. Actually, the last real scandal was over a hundred years ago when Crown Prince Frederik’s great-grandfather tried to topple the elected government because he didn’t like the PM. That could have ended very badly for the Royal family. This September we are celebrating the Queens 50th jubilee as reigning monarch. It will be national celebrations which will be on par with the ones held in Britain for Queen Elisabeth. Our Queen is much loved by her people. She is 82 today, still going strong, but has cut down on the work load which is not being increasingly shouldered by her sons and their wives. Her husband passed away a couple of years ago.
Love the way they are always laughing, smiling at each other, holding hands but most importantly, SHOW there LOVE. Really wish Prince William and Princess Catherine would or should I could show there LOVE in public. ❤️

Before she died Frederik showed Queen Ingrid , video from a video camera, and she said" This is the one " They had 14 precious months before the Press tracked Mary down. The queen did not agree with the friendship until 2003,according to one of their relatives.
Just recently ,on Danish web-site, the Queen said " They are still besotted with one another.!" He is a quiet, rather shy man ,who does not want to be King, and the reserved Scottish Mary suits him perfectly .His younger brother wants to be King. Clearly there is a lot going on behind the scenes ,which we know nothing about.
