I have no idea why this was in my youtube recommendations but was one of the sweetest royal weddings I've seen. Frederick looked so soppy in love it was adorable! xx
Confirmation of his daughter popped up in my reccomendations. There is another one where the 4 children are taking the mick out of the mums Danish tainted with the Aussie accent.😂 He still has it baaad! I'm not a royalist. I believe that my royal family could learn alot from the mainland European countries. I think in many ways they kind of envy them. I think the only people bothered about the Royal family in my country are the tabloid press. The rest of us really couldn't give a fig! Once the Queen dies....its over!
Hands down - my favourite royal wedding. I love how emotional Frederik is. They are clearly in love and both deeply moved. Love how the people of Denmark embraced Mary - the cheering! I love this couple, and the people of Denmark...well, they just ROCK! xo from Canada!
Beautiful Wedding but the dress was a missed opportunity. It had lovely pieces as if 5-6 people were working on a different dress and look. the day came and they sewed them together. Love it or hate it. Jury is still out on the dress. The lovely Tiara was lost in piles of stacked hair and lace. It sadly didn't show at all, not erin the pictures. I wanted to cry for Mary. Blocks & chops and squares. A very sad mess. You can see the smiles on the guests are more polite than anything except for family and close loving friends. The Queen's Tiara should have been worn with pride and had the place of honor upon Mary's head. It was so beautiful just as Mary.
@@cindywillis8923 It was a beautiful wedding but I agree about her dress/gown. It was too structured...yes, "blocks & chops and squares" and I wasn't crazy about the cut of the dress at her shoulders. She's a beautiful bride nonetheless...a beautiful couple! I tell you, the most incredible afternoon wedding ceremony I've ever seen was the LUXE TV (YT) 3 hour coverage of Prince Albert's marriage to Charlene. I've never seen so many beautiful fashions! Omgosh, amazing!
I agree so much. I remember getting home from my internship on the day and dropping by the bakery to buy "honey moon bread" for the occasion. This wedding was seriously huge. Everyone was obsessed with it in Denmark. I sat there, watching the whole wedding on TV with my family and we ate that honeymoon bread. It was one of the biggest things in my memory to have happened in Denmark as a cultural event. Only football surpasses it, haha. I was like 15 at the time and I was so obsessed with this wedding because of how awesome Frederik and Mary were together and how it had been so incredibly evident that after he met her, he found peace. They are still the most beloved couple in the Danish royal family and we are so happy to have Mary as our crown princess.
Mary did gain her incredible position within the Danish Royal Family - but to achieve this she gave up (1) her Australian nationality; (2) her religion - I think she was Angligan/Church of England; (3) lastly she had to sign an agreement that if she and the Crown Prince divorced she would give up all custody rites to her children. But I have to agree she as been a great Crown Princess and will be a great Danish Queen (eventually).
The beautiful part of this wedding is that they’re so genuine. You can see their nerves, you can see their love for each other. They’re not just smiles and composure to appease their public figure persona.
This is still one of my favorite royal weddings - I love the colors and I love how stupid in love Frederik is. His tears of joy ... so sweet. And I love how clearly the people have embraced Mary - the cheering when she emerged from the car - lovely. I love this couple.
Frederik & Mary: Mary be patient you have a good man! I was married for 41 yrs. We had a few trials of Life as the yrs went on. But I had the prize & the other Women did not! I see the wonderful LOVE between you too! I would still be married But my Gary passed on. I miss him each day.
Stupid in love....hihi! yeah...the kind of „boys“, we teased in school. if he wouldn‘t be a prince, nobody would have a second look. I very much prefere Prince Harry! he is not „a beau“, but he is tall and very handsome and has a little bit of bad-boy-image and he is sexy. and of course Kate&Wills are the couple of hearts! love them!
Us Australians are really proud of Mary, she really has been a wonderful wife to her Prince and they are such a loving couple, it was beautiful to see him cry and how they comfort eachother ❤️
I really like the Danish Royals. They seem much more genuine and warm than their British counterparts. The Queen is always smiling! The speech that Mary did for Frederik on his 50th birthday blew me away.
Mary is so beautiful and dignified. She left her home and had to learn a new language. Now THAT is sacrifice for love. Although with this kind of love, there is no sacrifice.....
Not only was she required to learn the language she also had to renounce her citizenship as Denmark doesn't recognize dual citizenship with Australia ... who sacrificed the most, eh???
That's why I love Denmark. So wonderful The Crown Prince married the woman he loves, and she is accepted by the royal family as royal too. So beautiful and wonderful, to marry the person you truly love. May God bless the Royal family of Denmark.
@@infantebenji our royal family is a bit different from other royal families. They are pretty expressive and that is mostly thanks to Frederik's grandmother, queen Ingrid who pretty early on used the press to invite the danish citizens into their home. Before that, there was a pretty clear separation between the royals and the commoners. It was a very smart career move because the danish royal family has probably never been more loved than after the royals' public image was shifted from being godlike to being part of everyone's family. Frederik has taken this idea and turned it up to 11 with Mary and their kids. Frederik prioritized being a father because he remembered growing up with his parents being distant due to our queen Margrethe's royal duties. He wanted to make sure that his kids gets as much love and attention as possible because that was something he missed out on when he was little. It wasn't exactly Margrethe's fault. She became queen pretty young and it was a different time. I'm just happy that nowadays it's possible for the royal children to have somewhat normal lives and getting used to dealing with a permanent life in the spotlight from an early age. Him and Mary are incredibly smart in the way they use the press and they do have agreements with the press as to when and where it's okay for them to take pictures of the kids and ask questions. Fx the press stays away from the children's schools so they can focus on their studies and friendships in peace. I don't know how they do it but it's almost like Frederik and Mary can do no wrong. The tabloids like to make mountains out of molehills about every royal but they pretty much never touch Frederik and Mary. I think the worst I've seen when I pass the magazine racks in the stores is shit like: "Mary feels betrayed by random friend". It's never something Mary did or Frederik did. If there is drama it's always something someone did TO them and it's usually always bullshit because tabloids. The usual gossip about the crown Prince couple is always positive: "The crown Prince couple is at the beach. Look at how gorgeous princess Mary is" or "crown princess Mary is grateful and loves her people" or "crown Prince Frederik is the people's man" or "our handsome crown Prince and his beautiful family visit Greenland and make new friends"
Forget teary eyes...I honestly thought he was going to be one of those Grooms who passes out. Frederick did look like he was hyperventilating there a couple of times, but the look on his face when he finally got a close and good look at Mary? That’s how I hope the person I find someday looks at me. 😊😊
Our crown prince has a soft heart and it makes him very popular, but it's not much different from the Sweedish crown princess and the Norwegian crown prince. They are great friends btw. Both him and Mary make a real effort to be close to the people, and for giving their children as normal a childhood as possible. Our monarchy is going to last for many years to come. A huge part of the population watches the queen's speech on New Years Eve, and no doubt it will continue with Frede (yes, our future king has a nickname).
There was a very strong woman walking down the aisle with her equally strong father. Love the emotional reaction from husband to be. The Queen looks pleased because her son found a winner! Love watching updates from this family. Don't you?
I love the interaction between Princess Mary and Queen Margrethe, who clearly is filled with love, affection and true honor & respect. The Queen is delighted with her daughter in law, Mary. 🇺🇸💕❤🙏 🇩🇰
You can tell they are so in love. I love the video when she spoke at his 50th Birthday party, you can tell they are so in love and respect each other. 🥰
@@6356190 My belated congratulations to the Danish people - I have only seen a fraction of the ceremony, but it looked splendid. All the desirable elements came together so well, i.e., An elegant, beautiful bride, a tender hearted groom, the music and venue utterly brilliant; who could ask for more? The wedding of Harry/Meghan contrasts so sharply, Meghan's dress was lovely, but the whole ceremony descended into farce very quickly. The endless and incoherent sermon .... the caterwauling of the gospel singers (all style, but little substance) it was a blessed relief when it was finally over - a TV soap opera in all but name. Bravo Denmark! Blessings to the happy couple.💐
Wow and I thought harry was happy to see Meghan. This man was crying and couldn't stop smiling. He was so worried because it was taking long for her to come. You can tell he loves her so much.
The royals, in this modern age, marry strictly for love! Thank gawd because new, fresh genes need to be introduced into the gene pools! Seriously, all that incest and inbreeding through the centuries, unlike this beautiful Danish couple, have made for some very unattractive royals, in my opinion. The once powerful Spanish House of Habsburg was finally brought down by so much incest. The last ruler, Charles II of Spain (Whose grandmother was his aunt. Jeebus! GROSS!) was so physically ugly and weak, and probably had all kinds of genetic defects that he couldn't produce any heirs and that was the end of the Habsburg rule. Google the Habsburg Jaw, a physical deformity brought on by inbreeding, a deformity inherited by some descendants to this day! Fascinating stuff!
Leslie Bilotta agreed Meghan has absolutely no class whatsoever... I’m surprised Her Majesty signed off on him living in sin with his thrice divorced actress!!
@jane rae Remember that a lot of Scots left Scotland due to the Rising in 1745. Most went to America, but others branched out all over the place, Australia being one. Doubtful her father was raised in Scotland, but once a Scot, always a Scot even if the line is more heritage than location. My heritage is Irish and Scottish and pround to be so.
@@heathers8826 Both her parents were born and raised in Scotland. They were well educated and emigrated as a young married couple so Scottish through and through.
He has a beautiful soul,it shines through the calmness and beauty of his smile ,first at his mother the Queen, and then his bride the processes up the asle.
I only discovered them a week or so ago. I’m Scottish and love he married a woman with roots here. The Danish are so very classy. Proud and kind and seem not to have a tabloid press as vile as ours in the UK. Great country xx
The most beautiful about this royal couple is the fact that after all these years the look of love in their eyes did absolutely not change. See the video « Crown Princess Mary to her husband: "I am so happy that you swept me off my feet" », where princess Mary holds a speech for the 50th birthday of her husband. (english subtitles availables) A wonderful speech about a wonderful relationship, and prince Frederic is as emotionnal as at his wedding. Best royal couple these days...
On 11th October ,at Haslev ,Denmark, he gave her a bug hug in public, and they walked away holding hands. After the Royal Run in September, Mary gave Frederik his medal ,and they kissed in public and hugged the children --A warm and loving family--Not like the stiff-necked British Royals !
This couple is soooo sweet.... he is in tears before her arrival when the music started.... I hope this happen to me someday with the man I should marry 😍
The Prince is one brave man - he looked straight at his bride as she walked down the aisle squarely facing everything he was feeling: his love for her, the excitement, the sheer joy of the moment, the life together which was ahead of them, and the soaring music did it all. I've never seen any other bridegroom do that.
It is so touchy to see how the Prince crying because he is fall in love and happy. He is so sensitive and loves her dearly. You have to listen his wedding speech! My favorite royal wedding ever!!◠❥◠❥◠❥. ● • ♥
Mila Na yes Miller I totally agree he's looks it's beautiful to see the man crying neighbour of mine thought it was a weakness but I said it's beautiful
When it took so long coming in maybe he thought for a sec she changed her mind. I love how his brother rubbed his back a second to show caring. Two bros. must be close!
Queen Margrethe is now the oldest living Queen. She’s always so positive. I have great admiration for her. She was truly missed at King Charles’ Coronation. The Queen Margrethe is always present at such events so it seemed incomplete without her smiling face. I looked & looked for her and finally realized she was not able to attend. I knew her back was still healing and was keeping her down. Back surgery, which I‘be have had very Kong’s & difficult ones, is a painful & often long recovery period. It’s really awful and much more so than the Doctors ever fully explain. I was worried for her until I finally saw her back out and moving around. She’s a strong lady but this is horrific pain that rarely ever leaves. It’s hard on your entire body. She is silk using a cane from time to time which likely helps a little, taking some pressure off her back. I feel so bad for her as I know the amount of suffering she’s facing. It takes a great deal of effort & strength to do the simplest of things and fir her, it’s so much more to do. I’ve prayed for her and will continue to do so. She has my admiration, my heart & good well. 🇺🇸❤🙏🇩🇰
Queen Margrethe is easily one of the most stunningly dressed women in public life. Her formal wear, especially, is beautiful. The gown she wore at this wedding, as well as the accessories, are simply sublime.
Prince Frederick made excellent choice. She is hard working, responsible, dignified and simply noble and beautiful. Perfect woman for the future role of Queen. Lucky Frederick. Good luck to both of them.
@@sladjanasimic5486 Perfectly said. He is crying because he knows, that against all odds, he has found the perfect partner for a life of service and dedication. She has proved to be everything he had hoped for and visa versa. They are intelligent, considerate people who have a great equal relationship and are wonderful parents but also know their life is about service and getting rid of ego. A very hard choice to make that other royals have struggled with.
One of the most emotional weddings I’ve watched. Prince Frederik looking so nervous, the teary eyed couple, the less extravagant wedding compare to the other royal weddings...I’ve just watched a recent video while Princess Mary was delivering her about about her man. I’ve always loved the British couples but gosh, these two are sooooo #relationshipgoals! 14 years have passed but they way the look at each other since then hasn’t changed at all. And they still look so gorgeous! Their love for each other remind us that falling in love with the person you love is never ending. 💕
Best royal wedding in modern history for me❤️ from the ceremony to their first dance it is a beautiful wedding and an incredible fairy tale ❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👑🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰
15 years ago today Mary Elizabeth Donaldson married Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark. Their love story is regarded as a fairy tale romance. Happy 15th wedding anniversary CP Frederik and CP Mary! May the joy and love you’ve found continue to grow and may the days and years ahead be especially wonderful for both of you. Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness shared with your family and loved ones. Keep the love and the faith! ❤️God bless and protect you always! 🙏👸🤴👏🎉🌸
loved that they're still going strong after so many years... feels like the wedding just happened yesterday. ... this is such so so true love....I'm crying. ..
The music chosen for the bride’s entrance to the Cathedral was masterfully played , making the right accords at the moment when the groom and bride meet.
I'm from Tasmania I have lived there all my life, apart from the past 2 yrs, but I feel so proud to still say, she is our beautiful Mary. She has style & grace. She deserves the title of Princess. Princess Mary.
Even today you can see in Prince Frederik's eyes how much he loves his wife. Very lovely royal couple. Princess Mary is so elegant no matter what she wears. She is far more beautiful than the Duchess of Cambridge. My favourite royal family is the Windsor, but my favourite royal couple is Crown Prince Fredrik & Crown Princess Mary.
How generous of royal couples to share their most special, intimate, significant day with the rest of the world. I am an American but I have enjoyed seeing this most perfect, beautiful wedding. Thank you to the beautiful royal family for allowing a world of strangers to share in your happiness!!!!! I have watched it before but hesitated to give my thanks. Anyway, may this couple be happy together all the days of their lives!!!! kl
YES! I love it... Made me imagine it's a medieval kind of wedding. I don't like the modern royal wedding. I want the old school ones. Made me imagine and dream I live in that time
The gentle hand from Mary to Frederik and he giving it a squeeze was so touching ❤️so open with their emotions I’ll always remember watching this wedding and thinking wow Frederik must be in love ..he’s crying …having only seen royal weddings from England it’s not really seen. Well done to both and all these years later having just watched Mary’s speech to Frederik on his 50th birthday they are clearly still so happy and in love ❤️ love from Australia to them both.
This brings true joy to my heart esp knowing she is a woman of true worth and integrity who embraced her husband and country with fervor and has brought happiness and honor to everyone. I admire her intelligence and grace. Their love for each other a symbol of what is possible between a man and woman who give themselves without restriction to each other.
The veil are over hundred years old it is made in Ireland by nunes. for Crownprinc Frederiks great grandmother ,her Daugther Queen Ingrid of Denmark vore it and her tre daugthers including Queen Margrethe vore it and then al there daugthers untill Frederik married then a daugther in law for the first time in over hundred years got to wear it Mary.
It comes from UK Princ Frederiks great grandmother came from Uk to Sweden and became a Swedish crownprincess, she vore it first in UK at her wedding ,then her daugther a Swedish Princess Ingrid who brought it whith her to Denmark .she later became Frederiks grandmother It has been used one time in UK the very first time it was used , one time in Sweden ,the two times in Denmark, Queen Ingrids two daugthers got married there, then her youngest got married in Greeze and it was used. One time in Germany and again one time in Denmark by Queen Ingrids grandchildren girls.
West Winds I saw princess Queen Margaret's wedding to her now late husband and I was astounded by the Veil and the dress is very similar to the one Princess Mary chose it must be very in a very Danish look
Two of my favorite Royal wedding!! and when I watch them it brings more clarity to this bible verse which said a man who find a wife finds a good thing.
When the occasion calls for it, nobody does ‘regal’ like Queen Margrethe - while a very down-to-earth person, she is an artist with a strong visual sense and appreciates the dramatic impact of a beautifully coordinated gown, hairstyle and jewels. She makes her people proud by looking every inch the Queen on such occasions, and her appearance at this wedding is a great example of that.
The similarity of Queen Margrethe's gown to Princess Mary's bridesmaids colors is very thoughtful and remarkable from Her Majesty's part. Maybe a subtle sign to Mary.
Wow!!! First time watching this after watching MD's speech at the Crown Prince's 50th bday. How beautiful and genuine yet regal even their wedding was. Credits to the cameraman who managed to capture the special moments so perfectly. So beautiful to see such love, they couldn't keep their hands off each other for long. And wow.. That look he gave her at 9:14 - 9-19 ...
So far my favorite royal wedding they look so in love and happy he looked at her with adoring eyes and why not she's absolutely gorgeous her dress and the bell, the jewelry stunning
Mary you looked every inch the true princess the moment you stepped from the car. Loved your Dad wearing his kilt! You are so serene and just gorgeous!!! Lucky Fred!! Happiness always to you both (from another Aussie chick!!)
Frederik is so sweet. Its so touching that he is moved by watching Mary walking up the aisle. The whole of Denmark where so happy for them. And they are still in love now in 2022 after having 4 beautifull children.
I just happen to come across this on a feed…what a beautiful couple. You can tell they truly love their country and each other…I’ve watched their wedding waltz many times…
More than complicity. Apparently he has been deeply infatuated with Mary since his brother married her. If you look at his subsequent wife, Marie, she is a copy of Mary.
