I remember the marines in Belfast in the 70s .I was just a child then .They where brilliant them days.Hard but fair.Even one lad give me his beret at the end of his tour.
Though he does pull (most of) his kicks and uses the side of his boot istead of the toe so it does less damage- if done for real, no one would be getting up!
Let's be honest though, this is probably one of the best adverts for the military I've ever seen. Like, who WOULDN'T want to roll around on a mat fighting your mates and throwing each other into the sea. You can tell these guys have a great time with their career choices.
@@edwardrichtofen1252 relax mate I have a pet peeve about people getting military knowledge wrong but an average person calling marines soldiers ain’t that deep, end of the day their doing the same thing
As an older sibling, I am 100% sure that these stunts have inspired some of the crying and boo boos suffered by little brothers country-wide that evening.
British and US marines do frequent training exchanges, and work together all the time, along with the other allied forces. Squabbling over which force spends more weeks in basic training is ridiculous. What really counts is experience in the field. It's the months spent patrolling Afghanistan that really counts, the years spent doing the job for real that really count!
I agree. All this squabbling over which military is better is silly. What's great about the UK and US is that they share resources and work together in war efforts. People should be proud that we're allies.
J. Both r awesome. But neither stopped me from tearing down the twin towers this is a joke btw. Don't get butt hurt just watch TheAmazingAthiest's vid on humour then talk to me
@@slipperystone8451 Why is this so true i mean, being scottish is amazing, but amricans seem to eat hot lead for breakfast lunch and dinner thinking it isnt poisiness
No I like it honestly cuz we won't get lost and its easy to go back to where you were. The reply section is a little confusing but you'll get into slowly.
Martial Artist here. Yeah, this is pretty much WWE with camos. But that's a bit the point. It's over the top because the point is to make it look good for the kids and everyone else. It's entertainement/recruitment moral/motivation stuff.
I trained in Kung Fufor years. Then learned some Krav Maga in the army. After a few real fights I figured out it's all only good for conditioning. All you have to do in a fight is guard your head, and punch the other guy really fucking hard a few times.
@Astolfo Desu Agreed no doubt SAS and SBS are superior to spetsnaz. People just depict Russians as being really physically strong and good at combat which they aren't as good as compared to countries like the UK or US.
Not true they are no joke. The USMC was copied from the British Royal Marines. I was in the USMC and these guys would give any US Marine a challenge. But it would never come to that because they are brothers.
0:58 bro trust me this move looks like just for a show but im trained ju jitsu fighter and i won a lot of fights with this move in the ring ...love from greece
Except US Marines often don't get taught unarmed combat. Royal Marines practice it over an over. US Marine training is 13 weeks. Royal Marine 32 to 64 weeks.
@@asutachi4607 I wouldn't move there if I were you. Im from Liverpool but have been living in Texas for the past 15 years. I go back to visit my family usually once a year. For years the job market has been getting harder and harder to enter, cost of living is rising exponentially yet pay has been stagnant for decades. If you were to move there WITHOUT already being literally guaranteed a job then you'll never find one. Its really hard for people from there to get a job, hiring managers know this and won't even bother giving a foreigner the time of day with even a courtesy call saying sorry but you're not what we're looking for. You simply won't get a call. In 2016 I went back for 7 months and looked for work because I was strongly considering moving back over and had no luck whatsoever even though I'm from there and have an aerospace degree. I couldn't even get a cashier job at a petrol station. You'd have almost no chance at all at finding one once there so I strongly suggest not winging it and making sure you have a job waiting for you. Oh, and make sure its not a ZERO HOUR CONTRACT JOB. Yes thats right. Theres a ton of jobs where you're not guaranteed work. Theres highly skilled people like doctors and nurses for example that have "jobs" but no hours are promised. Its insane. Look up zero hour contract jobs and you'll see what i mean
I don't think slitting people's throats and blasting them to bits it's something they can perform lmao And besides, they actually do all this. In actual application the moves are nowhere near as smooth, but almost all of them work.
You're doing so well, I'd like to take time out to CONGRATULATE you and the Audience most of all. Thank you for every thing you've given myself and others included.
As a martial artist (been training for 6 years) if you catch a kick like at 1:32 and the guy knows what he is doing then you will definitely collapse from the liver kick or even break a few ribs. Always catch with a spoon technique. If you catch that way he will kick against your upper arm and not your ribs. Which is way safer and you can do a slam from that position. With the marine catch you can only do a leg sweep. Thanks for reading this and if you have any questions just ask. Have a great day!
This is at a recruiting event, so they're making themselves look like super dooper badasses for the sake of all the kiddies whole grow up wanting to be marines. I seriously doubt they'd use even a quarter of this stuff in an actual fight.
Love this, great bit of fun. Some of the moves existed in the realms of possibility but I think most of this was just pure entertainment for the public, a good bit of fun combined with “Join the Royal Marines and do cool shit.” And to all those knocking this as a combative form, these guys are all Royal Marines Commandos, I’m sure if they have to throw down with their bare hands then it’ll be a lot more lethal, quick, brutal and very effective.
These guys are just having a bit of fun and entertaining the audience,But if it was for real,I say don't mess with them because they are the best! Like all our brave military personnel male or female!
Love true combat. And this is light for people that don't have to go through it! There's no ropes, just life or death! Obviously a proper soldier has a hundred different things to think about other than winning a belt! Kick in the balls noted! Poor bloke!
Ormstoo Dotcom Every country has hard and easy places to live in With the same logic you can say african armies are the best cause their lives are the hardest
This is good. I wish I'd have been a royal marine. I've always looked up to them, and admired them. Must be great experiencing all the macho pride, bravado, and camaraderie of being a marine, as well as seeing the world, and learning loads of skills too
