In 1986 the USSR had the potential to destroy the world (life) 56 times. Russia is in no way inferior to that, I think and when we look at the potential of the global military now I think that it is many times greater the potential.
Gave me chills to hear the good old Hip Hoorah! for Queen Elizabeth as she passed. A right proper send off full of national pride. I notice in the closeup shot that the crew were standing tall and proud, as well they should. She is as fine a warship as any to sail the sea, and a fine collection of kit and personnel. With the cost that has to be born to support one of these ships, at least you have something well worth the bragging rights!
What a lovely sight. I was on the round tower waving the Falkland Task Force off in '82 and seeing this now brings all those memories and of my service back. Patriotic and Proud. God Bless em ........ x
A magnificent sight. Let's hope their mission is a success and it sends out the required message to those it is meant for. It's actually quite funny really though. As impressive as these ships are, the most powerful vessel in this Carrier Group isn't the one on the surface. It's the Sub accompanying the fleet which could if called upon, inflict the most damage to any potential enemy.

Bastion (with an Onyx missile) and Kolibr are universal complexes suitable for ground strikes ... So the wretched remnants of the fleet the queen should be extremely careful, both in the Black Sea and in the eastern Mediterranean ...

Amazing how with a GDP the same as Canada (despite a four times greater population) a defence budget, despite being a high percentage of what little money Russia has, is comparable to the UK on its own and tiny compared to the USA and a producing such great weapons as carrier which needed a tug, then sank in dry dock and is now burned out, and a nuclear submarine that sunk itself. So in conclusion Russia with no money, no technology and no naval tradition is bound to produce “Hyperspace missiles which can destroy The QE task force.” This type of pathetic nationalist postering is sadly all too typical Putins Russia and why a country which in 1900 had the potential before WW1 to be a truly great power like the USA, and likely China today, is instead is an economic basket case with decreasing population propped up by oil and other natural resources (not manufacturing or advanced trade) and hated by its smaller neighbours such as the Ukraine which it seeks to bully and undermine. Russia’s only worthwhile contribution to the world in the last hundred years has been to defeat Nazi Germany (albeit with massive USA and UK economic support) and its postering and aggression leading to the creation of NATO. Why, is the UK going to have its carrier decks loaded with US aircraft and US pilots like the QE carrier did in this clip? the RN has no fixed wing aircraft of their own.
Only 10 of the 18 F-35s are US. All of the Merlins and Wildcats will be RN operated. I think the idea is to make it a joint operation between the U.K. and the States.
@@georgebarnes8163 The USM want to be on the Q E because the USN do not have a carrier that is purpose built for the F35 B, there some internal service rivalry going on here , and if you read between the lines so to speak the USM want a bit more freedom in operating it air wings at sea
Errr .... The only carrier specifically designed for 5th Gen operations is hauling the largest 5th Gen fighter deployment ever. The T45 destroyer is THE most capable air defence Destroyer in the world. And these people are the best in the world (Royal Navy, RAF, US Navy and USMC).
