Agreed, as a Royals fan, he's one of the players I've had my eye on. Very weird seeing all of that happen in the 6th. Regardless of why all of that went on, I could actually see him getting the yips from that. Hope it doesn't happen.

Great pitching today. I think it could be due to the pitch count. It was at 104 at the bottom of the 6. Maybe he was fatigued without feeling it

I don't understand how you can call this the definition of the yips if two of the wild pitches were him slipping. If he had stayed on his feet and thrown 3 like that then I could get on board

chill - you know how miraculous it is that every game has a well edited 8-12 minute highlight reel-pulled from both broadcasts no less-in what is usually 2-3h after the game is over.

He likes to live dangerously...he has always been like that. Barely gets out of there but to his credit he usually manages to do it. Jordan Hicks has been playing well and might be a better closer but the Jays would never allow that as Romano is popular and a home grown talent.

It’s all mental. The jays need a shrink to help these young kids and it’s manager, pls hire a Wendy Rhodes from Billions for the Jays.

Over 100 pitches, walks two batters, and then 3 consecutive wild pitches to score the two batters he walked and tie the game. That is absolutely ridiculous that he was left in the game long enough to manage that.

They can’t pull him mid batter unless he is hurt. Can’t even fault Q for leaving him in because he had been rolling before the back to back walks. But at same time he was at 100 pitches and back to back walks.

That's what is called "the yips". Part way through his delivery he mentally "froze up" and his body followed by basically shutting down and just releasing the ball. This happens usually (although extremely rarely) to second basemen with easy throws to first with a lot of time, to tennis players on second serves, and to long jumpers and high jumpers at moment of exploding on their jumping leg and they instead don't jump at all. The individual becomes so uncertain, due to high anxiety in the moment, that the instructions from their brain gets lost on it's way through their nervous system and never reaches the intended muscles, and can be seen as "not following through" with whatever mechanical motion was intended. Awkward movements and falls are seen because parts of the body started the motion while other parts didn't complete it and inertia and gravity take over when the individual is off balance.

They don't seem to care about the run Davis Schneider is on, but they are giving so much attention to Jasson Dominguez, who although is doing well, is not doing as well as Schneider. The only reason I can think of why is because he plays for a New York team and Schneider plays for a Canadian team.

Here's hoping for a great series with Texas. Toronto's scheduled starters are definitely steady, but no one's invincible. Think our bullpen will be a strength in our favour. Hopefully can take 3 of 4, which would give us the tie-breaker. Gonna be fun!
