A lot of rappers use part of their song as an intro to get everything flowing then works the freestyle in. It's actually pretty smart to do and usually still fire. Lil Dicky did it on Sway and still one of the best freestyles I've ever heard.

Just like eminem said in his interview with crook, going in and out between written and off the dome is fine. Idk if it's quite the same but in the dance part of hip hop culture (breaking, popping, etc.) We often have like premade moves and concepts that we throw in during our sets. We dont choreograph entire sets when we battle, but we do dip between stuff we made when we train and stuff we come up with on the spot.
