RPG | D&D Ambience - Giant Sand Worm
The ambience of a giant sand worm (Shai-Hulud, if you will) slithering underground and emerging on the surface in rage.

Not sure if you're reading comments on older videos, but I happened to listen to several of your audios that interested me, and I should mention the _order_ in which I listened to them. In particular, there were 5 of your audios I listened to back-to-back: -Earthquake -Sandworm -Inside a Monster -Acid Pool -Giant Heart Listening to all of these _in that order_ put a VERY interesting story idea in my head that I actually found really cool. I think it could make a pretty unique ambience to experiment with, too - it's a bit of a strange one, but mind if I share it with you? Or, if the comments section isn't the place to give suggestions, is there any other place I can tell you my idea?

Hey, huge thanks for sharing your thoughts, and I'm really happy you took interest in my work. Yes, please, do share your thoughts here, in the comments. I try to follow them as best as I can and read through all of the new ones at least once a week.

@@TheAmbienceChannel Alright. I'll warn you that it's very weird, but hopefully it makes more sense since I mentioned which videos I watched in succession. The very strange thought that entered my head was: what would it be like to live _inside_ a sandworm, or some other gigantic monster? Normally being inside the body of a gigantic creature sounds dangerous, but ever since I learned about it in school, I was always a huge fan of the idea of "symbiotes" - that is, two very different creatures being in a _mutually beneficial_ relationship, often with one living on (or in) the body of the other. A well-known real-world example would be clownfish and sea anemones. So, rather than traveling through the body of a huge, but unaware monster, I started wondering what it would be like to relax inside the body of a creature that not only _knows_ you're in there, but actually _wants_ to keep you safe, and even has anatomy allowing it to accommodate "passengers." I think it could be really cool to _recontextualize_ the scary/ominous ambience from videos like "Inside a Monster" or "Giant Heart" into something more _relaxing._ I know that a lot of people (myself included) can actually find the sounds of the body to be comforting, and even a little intimate. Could be an interesting experiment to see how you can distinguish these from the older videos? I know the concept sounds strange, but in a fantasy world, there are close to infinite possibilities. So I think that, at some point, a humanoid being could eventually end up inside the body of a much larger monster, and _survive_ in there because the creature's anatomy doesn't kill them. They could survive off the flesh and fluids of their new "host" (as gross as that sounds) without causing any significant harm to the host. And, if they're both sentient, the "symbiote" could provide _companionship_ to the much larger host? Sorry if this is making you uncomfortable. My mind tends to go into overdrive with some really weird scenarios, and I get carried away. Hope this isn't _too_ weird... It could also be super intersting to _combine_ these "inside the body" sounds with _other sounds_ to show what the creature we're inside is _doing._ For example we could have deep, rumbly, but muffled _vocalizations_ from our huge monster, as if it's trying to communicate with us, or sooth us with the sound of its voice (whether or not we can understand it is besides the point). Or, going back to the original idea of a sandworm, perhaps combining the sounds of a huge monster's internal organs with the muffled _quakes_ of the sandworm _tunneling_ could be a cool experience - perhaps we're somehow able to communicate with the sandworm, and it's taking us to our destination. Actually, now that I think about it, another cool ambience would be possible us inside some kind of _machine_ that's tunneling deep into the earth. It would combine a lot of quakes and crumbling earth with the sounds of heavy machinery. Just something random I thought of while on the subject of "tunneling!" I know that's a lot of ideas I just threw out there, and I'm sorry for being so rambly and nonsensical here. But perhaps one or several of them will inspire you somehow?

@@so_sma11 Mate, your ideas are... amazing! Huge thanks for sharing these, I'm writing down both in my list of ambiences-to-be. Seriously you should do this more and maybe devlope the ideas into something else, put them into a medium of some kind.

@@TheAmbienceChannel I do hope that I'll be able to flex my creative muscles in some form in the future... though with the place that I currently am in life, I don't really have the time and resources just yet.

Sandworms, from dune?

Sort of. I think the image of a sandworm has transcended the Dune franchise, so it fits anywhere now.
