Comparing an RPM app on my phone to 2 other speed checkers. How well will it work on my record player? #record #vinyl #recordplayers #recordplayer #turntable #audio
I don't have a circuit diagram, unfortunately. At the time, it was a useful project, but commercial ones are available quite cheaply, and they are more accurate, too. Thanks 😀 👍
As shown in this video, it doesn't seem to. I expect it would make a difference with the very light cheap modern turntables, like the Crosely suitcase style ones. However the motors in better quality equipment are quite capable of driving the phone around. Thanks 😀 👍
To measure anything physical an instrument has to be calibrated first. I don't think an iPhone can be calibrated. My 50 year old turntable measured 33.79 with .07 WF
It's an interesting point. I think it's worth considering, though, that this sort of measurement is essentially one of time. A phone is able to measure time to a high degree of accuracy as it is quartz crystal controlled. Quartz timepieces do not require recalibration once leaving the factory, and that would include phones as well as more traditional watches and clocks. Thanks for your comment.
