Working for Vinyl, it is all of our dream! Really incredible amount of RSD titles. Kind of wish I had grabbed the Talking Heads. That Hancock album shud e great 😊
Nice pick ups, so much good music, so glad you had a good RSD, by the size of the lines this year it appears our little hobby has Taken off like a Rocket! Thank for sharing, have a great week!
Your Record Store Day bouncer for records agreement sounds like a pretty cool arrangement! Glad you were able to participate this year - We were low on money, but I did manage to pick up Parliament, Los Nuggetz: Garage & Psyche From Latin America, and The Ramones: Sire Demos (which is really great, btw). - Thanks for sharing your day with us.
Thanks for sharing your experience, Scott! Indeed, a LOT of live recordings which I’m not really interested in getting BUT I need to get Parliament and Queen Latifah. QL was US only, I think, so I might need to look overseas for that one. Have a nice day ❤
Yes, there were lots of younger people. I was 3rd in line and the two people in front of me were in their early 20s. One of them was going after the South Park LP but the other one was going after the Jazz, the Psych Rock and other stuff. He walked out with 15 items. Luckily he was cool and allowed me to get the Pucho. And there were only two copies of the Gandalf LP, so we both grabbed those.
Thanks for the shoutout, Scott! You're too kind. I absolutely love that Parliament release and I'm with you.. I thought it would be hotter but maybe people will flock towards it now. Some great pickups and sounds like you had an awesome day!
This was my first RSD experience but yes I agree with you saying Parliament Osmium should have been a gatefold. I bought one anyway. 😁 You showed cool rsd purchases. Have a good week man.
Love how you requested folks pump the brakes before they took the "songs in the key of life" comparison to literally. Made me laugh loud. Avoiding the sacrilege lol, I love it! But, yeah, I agree, cowboy Carter is a very American album. It's what makes it so interesting. It's a pretty accurate representation of the splintering of genre. For me, however, the LP could've been sequenced better. But that's nitpicking. Anyway, I digress, genre… She did it with Renaissance as well but much more about splitting sub genre. Looking forward to part three in the trilogy. Nice Gio Swaby T BTW!
RSD has definitely made a comeback. It's been years since I've seen so many people get this excited about the records they got. Hopefully they keep it up.....and eventually get rid of the Cure's picture discs.
Really nice picks! I may have to check out that parliament… it was there but I did not grab it. I was able to get the Yusuf Lateef! Stop by when ya can! Cheers!
You had a great RSD, Scott. Sounds like you made some good memories and picked up some great music. Thanks for reminder about the Queen Latifah release. Im gonna look for that on my next visit. And nice review of the Beyonce album - I’m intrigued. I need to stream it one day before I make up my mind. I struck out at my local shop this year. It’s a small shop and they didn’t have any of the 10 or so on my list. Probably for the best, my bank account was relieved 😂. My daughter came with me this year so that was cool. She got the Taylor album and I picked up a couple of used CDs from a favorite local act. Cheers
In the middle of this video but really appreciating this behind the scenes observations and overall analysis. Interesting perspective, as part of the collector volunteer team. Great storytelling and I’m sure you’ve been told many times, soothing iconic voice! Getting paid in records!! So cool 😎
It's okay that you didn't get Jazz. I didn't get any Jazz either other than Pucho and His Latin Soul Brothers, which is considered Latin Jazz. Oh, and the Jazz Dispensary. So, we did get some Jazz.
Nothing special. Technics SL 8710 turntable, Pioneer PL 8710 turntable, Aiwa receiver, Numark speakers. I am not an audiophile. I am a music enthusiast.
Scott you did a great job with your finds, do you ever think that they'll rerelease a gospel album, for record store day, entitled The Caravans,it has a good song on this album called choose ye this day who you will serve. I love gospel music Scott
Croce died in a plane crash after playing a concert at my college alma mater. He was supposed to leave the next day but was in a hurry to get home. Small plane took off in the night and didn’t see the tree line and crashed. I had no clue about parliament and funkadelic. I always thought they were two separate bands. Thanks for the knowledge! Love the videos!
