Thank you for mentioning it doesn't have a passive tone control most forget to tell that part but it's still a nice bass I wouldn't mind having one Sire's are too complicated and Fender's are too expensive for my taste
I get that. It is just 18dB of brilliantly bright treble. Where the "noise" gets introduced is 75% up. If you need the treble boosted up that much, don't boost the bass, but if you don't want the very light single coil noise you get with the treble above 75% swap the pickups for the hum-cancelling PJ set and there is no noise.
