I seriously considered a RSI Smartcap for my 2016 Colorado. I ended up going with the RLD Designs stainless steel canopy. In hind sight, I wish I would have gone with the RSI Smartcap. The RLD experience was not too good for me. I also heard the RSI caps are going to be made here in the USA.
I didn't see any lock washers included and I have watched videos of these caps that have had the bolts rattle loose, I would definitely use some lock washers and locktite during assembly.
@@northridgenation I went with the EVO Sport on the Gladiator. Initially I wanted the Adventure, but due to availability I ended up with the Sport. All said and done, I’m glad I ended up with the sport.
Sorry but looks like you guys put the fastener in wrong direction for the front and rear. aren't the the bolt head suppose to be showing inward so that it's easier to tighten? looks like you have it backwards in the front and as for the rear you have some reversed and some in correct position
There is no right or wrong on the fastener direction. Yes, it would've been easier to reverse the fasteners, but this way you see the RSI logo, not the nut and washer when looking into the cap.
@@northridgenation The rear hatch; I want to know of my ARB Zero 73 fridge will slide out with a decked drawer system and a clearview drop slide; thanks!
Dang, we just had a dozen of the Sport caps in stock about two weeks ago. RSi says their Texas plant is getting real close to coming online, hopefully that means wait times will be a lot shorter.
No, you do not need them. Though they are handy to have to help tie things down. They come separately: www.northridge4x4.com/part/complete-racks/4831010-teraflex-uinta-cargo-bed-rail-system-w-tie-down-anchors
The GFC Topper is made out of aluminum, while the RSI SmartCap EVOa is stainless steel. Both are the same price. GFC weighs 135 lbs & the SmartCap weighs 165 lbs. (JT bed size.) Both do very similar things, comes down to personal preference and your vehicle specs.
That rail system is the TeraFlex Uinta bed rail system and it works great in combination with the Smartcap. You can get yours here: www.northridge4x4.com/part/complete-racks/4831010-teraflex-uinta-cargo-bed-rail-system-w-tie-down-anchors You can see our How-To video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1D6GOj9JChc.html
@@northridgenation I have. It is that when I made the purchase it said usually ships in 60 days, then in July it was early September, now they say October. I wanted to use it on a tip in October. now I am wondering if I will be putting it together in the snow in November. I know shipping is an issue (it comes from Africa) hope to see it sometime this year.
@@dalemcbride7299 The bigger issue is the supply. These have become so popular that the demand is super high and the factory is having issues trying to keep up. They trickle in here 2-3 at a time and we ship them out according to who ordered what and when.
@@northridgenation I am aware of all of that. It is just frustrating being told one thing and not having it be accurate. And I know you guys are in a tight spot. it is what it is. I will hang in there and pray I get one someday.
@@northridgenation All good my friend you guys have always been a pleasure to deal with. In addition I can't expect you to have any control over this crazy shipping environment. Your staff and service is and has always been top notch.
What is the main difference between the sport and the adventure series? And do I need more than stock suspension for the weight of that RSI? (I own a Gladiator Sport) Thank you
