Great show👍 I love how some in the comment thinks that a custom finish on JTR will transform them to a good looking speaker. No hate, performance is in focus nothing wrong with that :)
Now this is the take of the decade. So many JTR fanboys butthurt about the speakers being called hideous. Jeff designed them that way. That was the point.
@@keepingupwiththejones2933 I tell ya man if you ever heard a calibrated JTR system you’d flip. DM me for info to come listen to mine if your ever in the area
@@jarodreddig63 Will do bud. Haven't heard anyone unable to appreciate what Jeff has achieved. I understand why Shane is sore at Jeff. Shane has been low key disparaging about the look and finish of JTR so I understand why Jeff would say" F that guy" . At some point it is just petty high school bullshit on both their parts, hurting others more than the two of them. I would love to see more videos featuring JTR and I know Shane would showcase them properly. Shane knows his stuff and has the equipment to highlight them visually. I am near Philadelphia PA. You have an open invite as well. My email is available on my channel under the about section. Peace be with you my friend.
I own a pair of KEF R900 and get that feeling of being honored to be able to listen to them. Its an event. Speakers like those, you'd have to drag me out of the room, I live here now
Gotta defend the Monolith processor. While I never had the lockup issue it was a problem. But it’s been fixed. Their customer service has been awesome.
Gents, a quick question. I have 2 RELs s/810, and my mains are PMC twentyfive.26 mains they are used for both music and movie listening. They are driven by NAD 28/NAD17V2I. I use a mini dsp HD to set set up LFE bass. REL states that having the hi level connection as well as the LFE connection hooked up for movies. Would you still set the speakers to small in avr settings and when setting up the bass how would you accommodate the the hi level connection would it effect the LFE settings. I have all this in my lounge room. Would appreciate any feedback
Shane I would think that the finish on Jeffs speakers would be right up your alley. It seems to me that every time you review a speaker you’re basically describing wanting a flat black rust non-reflecting surface. I’m surprised you hate the finish so much.
@@therealshanelee I actually priced out custom paint through JTR and it wasn’t really that expensive. I’m sure his paint shop that he goes through could lay down a nice satin black which would give them the look you were looking for. Looks aside have you tried them out in your space? They might have a chance to win you over with their sound quality. I think when it comes to sound quality they could match or surpass the speakers you have used in your theater for home theater purposes. They are definitely not a $50,000 pair or two channel Focals even though they are really good for music. For home theater though I truly believe that there is a reason that there’s a high percentage or high priced home theater owners using these in there setups. I’ve heard many theater speaker professionals say compression drivers are the way to go for theater and JTR has one of the best. Granted there are many different preferences when it comes to sound or styles of Speakers. Might be worth checking them out though. At least check out one of the subs those things bang so hard you feel like your in the tank instead of watching fury.
Shane taking little, not so subtle pot shots at the RTJ all the way through. “I’m not knocking it”. Yeah, you are. Jeff will put any finish on them you want for a upcharge. veneer, piano finish, whatever you want. The engineering he does focuses on the drivers (he designs himself, and the crossovers he designs himself). You should listen to them, and your perspective would change. JTR makes an incredible product. I’ve heard them multiple times in multiple theaters and owned them myself at one point. They sound fantastic at any volume - but have the ridiculous headroom. Jeff’s roots are pro audio. That’s the background on the looks. You obviously haven’t heard them and your jabs come off as juvenile and lacking in class. RTJ, I haven’t heard yet, but I look forward to hearing them at some point. Sorry, but you missed the target on this one Shane.
Sounds like another JTR fanboy here acting butthurt because of someone telling the truth about JTR and RTJ speakers and subwoofers. They are the ugliest speakers at the price you will ever find. They do sound amazing and probably cannot be beat for twice or three times the price. Attacking people for speaking the truth only makes people question your motivation not Shane's.
@Sparechange Not once did you mention in the video that you listen to them. In fact you alluded to not even knowing what JTR is . So were you pretending not to know them or have you actually listened to them? Seems like you are very critical of products that have refused to send you items for review. You had the same salty attitude towards monoprice I noticed them proceeded to complain they ignored you requests to send a product. Very telling.
Very interesting conversation - with 3x215rts, 8x110hts, cap6kulf at home, and not so much option to comparison i'm very happy to hear that Jeff's speakers are considered as best in the horn world. Shane - contact Jeff and make review of JTRs. I was considering before the B&Ws which you have now and it will be interesting to know your opinion how B&W compare to JTRs.
Have 2, building another 2 now. It WILL be the same as Christmas Eve for me when the last one is connected :D 4x18 and 2x13 in the room should suffice for a while.
I’m sensing a little back story between JTR and Shane lol… seems like he may have been rubbed the wrong way a couple times. He’s made passing comments before about the company in past videos on his channels. Just wonder what drama is/was lol
@@keepingupwiththejones2933 selling 2 kidneys would probably pay for them but I doubt my wife would give up one of hers for speakers! She probably wouldn't give one up for me🤪🙄
Someone seems to care much more about looks than performance… In all seriousness I would rather pay 35k for a speaker that looks ugly-passable than a messed up sounding speaker that looks beautiful.
@@therealshanelee Bahahahah yes I did of course why would I comment if I didn’t. You on the other hand haven’t even heard them but your taking shots acting like its not worth the money because its ugly. BAHAHAHA get outta here bud, you’re a “professional” reviewer who reviews subs, speakers and more so you yourself should know that that is plain wrong 😉.
God: Shane you will highlight RTJ speakers on your channel. I command you. Devil: You finally found a way to make hell freeze over. Well played God well played
@@therealshanelee lol you must forget the shit you say in your own videos. Try to keep up. You were ripping on the finish. I E the custom finishes solves that problem. But you don’t actually pay for most stuff. Jeff’s a great guy he might hook u up.
