Tabs are for the pelvic soft armor "dangler" it was a mil issue item circa '05-'07ish. More of a groin protector used to stop ied shrapnel

Glad you said it cause I was just about to post a comment saying that. But yeah those ied's fucked up a lot of guys over in Iraq and in Afghanistan. I know the military also explored other options like kevlar woven boxer shorts before settling on the ol groin guard.

Tabs are to hang crouch padding to help catch shrapnel from explosions, that way it doesn't rip into your groin

Seems like a lot of companies are doing the same thing with "in stock" items that aren't actually in stock, just listed that way to convince people to buy from them and wait in line rather than getting something else.

I ordered and received mine within 2 weeks or less. No problem at all. I'm pretty sure around the time you ordered the carriers (fedx,ups) was way behind. Not the company.

The tabs inside are for hooking up a belly protector plate set up. At least that is what they are for on my plate carrier, and they look the same.

Smashed up compromised ceramic and it held up very well. I think I'll be replacing my AR500 lvl 3+ plates with these. 2 pound lighter per plate and more protection. Great video.

Just FYI there's still a .75" foam strip that goes to the edge of the RTS plate. The ceramic doesn't extend to the edge of the plate :D

Just FYI....armor is supposed to protect vital organs, so if you're shoot you don't die instantly, or within a specific time period.

The two inner loops are for adding a groin Kevlar to protect your nuts from shrapnel. I believe they have full pelvic girdles you can attach as well. Looks something like EOD technician gear.

I purchased one earlier this year.. no side plates but wish I had them now so go ahead and spend the extra and get them they are a great advantage when in combat. I've never been in any but from tons of research like he said in the video lots of guys eas shot thru the side. Over all the carrier fits great. I'm a medium shirt and ordered the same in the carriers and it fits absolutely perfect! Lots of room for adjustments to be made for wearing without shirt or with a big winter jacket. Don't hesitate to get one. EDIT: after one hit from any of these rounds I don't think your going to want to keep standing around waiting for another one to come. Just a note to remember.

The tabs are there so you can hook on Kevlar like groin protection or the base of your spine. Looks like a similar layout in comparison to the IOTV and the Solder Plate Carrier System.

Mr. G&G. When I think about my needs for armor, I always consider 5.56 and 7.62×39. But, this makes me consider my needs may also look like 6.5, .243, .270, 7mm rem mag and so on. Great video, and certainly things to consider for me and what my needs might actually be.

Hey just checked their website, appears this kit now cost $630. The name of the kit at this cost is “IV Ceramic Active Shooter Kit.” I know it’s been a year, but that’s an increase of over $250. Does this sound right? Just seems like a huge price increase in 12 months, even with inflation. Is there another kit (I couldn’t find it) that I am not seeing that you were showing at approx $380?

I was about to say having a load port on the bottom of the rig is stupid. Those buttons and Velcro wear out over time. Strong or not. But seeing those straps to hold the plates in place is nice. I kinda like that.

Thanks for the well thought out and executed test on this kit. I was hoping someone would do exactly what you did. From my research I thought RTS Tactical won the best value proposition for body armor so I placed my order. So glad I did but from my experience, expect the wait and with no updates or shipping notifications which I can live with. 6/11 I ordered this kit. 7/27 30-business days since order. 8/1 Package arrived UPS ground. Old video but those tabs on the inside of the front is to affix nut armor, like i had on my mtv in the marines. On the rear its to carry an oldschool but pack like what they had in the 90s and pretty useless to have assuming the front and rear plate bags are manufactured the same prior to assembly.

Those tabs are for nut protection and lower spinal protection. You hook them in there and they dangle down.

I was thinking about getting into building body armor as a side gig with tye demand we have. I got the Ar500 plates I can use to laminate fibers and I could very easily make atleast a level 2 or 3 equivalent.

So I really want to buy these plates, but the thing that keeps holding me up. Ive seen these things shot a bunch with high powered rifles at close range and nothing gets through. But one of the big things with the NIJ testing is if there is enough backface deformation it can kill you. That's a big thing cheaper ceramic plates fail for.

Not sure how anyone feels about Classic Firearms or Guard Dog body armor but I got my Level IV plates from them for < $300 ($266.16, shipped + tax) then I bought a Condor Sentry plate carrier (good luck finding one for < $60 though :/) from Optics Planet for ~ $60 ($51.95, shipped + tax)! I also ordered a *set* of trauma pads (I know, I know, but I want them anyway) from Tacticon Armament for < $40 ($36.95, tax & shipping) Total: $355.06 :)

Take those old 162gr M2 AP black tip .30 cal bullets, and load them on .300WM cases at about 3300fps.. Back up to 100yds, then give it a go..

That's a really good price, I recently picked up some hesco lvl 4 plates and a new plate carrier that was on clearance from midway. Overall, it's more than enough for me.
