Eh I just got a 3060 for 429.99 100$ over founders edition MSRP with better cooling they had over 20 in the micro center I got it to. Just walked in and bought it
2019 and early 2020 were decent.... but not I don't consider that time to be great. The last time I remember everything being cheap and priced normally was August-October 2016..... back then prices of RAM and SSD's were low and 10-series cards were attainable. Then Feb-May 2017 wasn't bad because prices of 10-series cards had come down despite high RAM prices, and July-August 2018 was good because the market was flooded with GPU's that miners were trying to offload. Aside from RAM being cheap and good CPU's like the Ryzen 5 1600 AF being available, I have a hard time considering the Turing era being a good time because Turning was a continuation of Pascal with R/T, Tensor, and a few other improvements. Cards like the GTX 1660 Super are only a small improvement over the 6gb GTX 1060. If Ethereum and other cryptos sh1t hit the fan then you'll probably see a 2nd hand GPU flood like no other. When Ampere was announced the overall Ethereum hashrate was 240TH/s but now it's 900TH/s. Cards like the RTX 3070 without the LHR mine at 60MH/s. My math says around 10 million graphics cards have entered the mining ecosystem within the last year.

I recently got into learning about PC, specifically right after buying one with a 3060 because I figured I should at least know how stuff works because I want to keep the machine for a while and wow, the emotional damage felt reading about how much of a disappointment the 3060 is has been pretty funny. In retrospect, yes for gaming I probably should've bought the 3060 ti but I also do video editing and animation so the 12gb of VRAM is quite nice to have. I'm still coping a bit though.
forgot they remade the 2060 12gb its nearly the same of a 2060 super and 3060. A 2060 12gb costs about under $300 after tax a 3060 is over $500 after tax. So i got a 2060 12gb.
Pro tip from someone who used a 2gb GT640 for YEARS… 720p, textures High, shadows low, everything else OFF. Even a 1050ti can do 4K60 with those settings! XD that 12gb will keep you at highest textures for (hopefully) until the PS6 is out. Going from the 2gb GT640 to a 12gb RTX2060 is plenty for me!
I got a rtx 2060 when it was first released, there were times in games at 1440p where it ran out of vram (6gb). The problem is the rtx 2060 isn't fast enough anymore for 1440p AAA games in 2021/22.
Depends on graphic settings, Ultra/max could be really hard. Got a 1080ti which is about 2070s OC level and it surely isn't enough anymore. Good 1440p gaming will be provided with a RTX 3070/2080ti minimum.
@@Alexdbre As you said, depends on graphics settings, I have a 1080ti extreme oc, and it works perfect for high/ultra settings(not max) on triple AAA games at 60 fps, I got a 3440x1440(ultra wide) which put more stress on the GPU but everything good so far, 1080ti was a cheap premium card that was so ahead of its time. I've been thinking on switch but not sure if I should wait, I don't really game that hard when it comes to highly intensive GPU games, I'm more like the type of the esports games player.
Got a 2060 12GB open box, sealed package for around $209 earlier this month. Pretty much brand new. Runs everything on Ultra @ 1080p (MW2 2022, Forza Horizon 4, Overwatch 2). I'm well above 80 frames in anything I play. If you aren't trying to go higher than 1440p, this is a great card. I previously had a 1060 3GB, which was struggling to keep up with modern games ranging from low - medium (MW 2019, Borderlands 3).
@@tnbn55 do you have one? Prob not. I went from a 2060 to a 3060 and the vram makes a huge difference already using over 9 in Halo infinite max settings 1440p. You don't know what you're talking about obviously.

More memory doesn't mean more FPS, even though the 2060's 6GB architecture was wrongly designed, (my opinion), I consider the increase unnecessary given the modified versions like "SUPER". Anyway my preference for an upgrade remains the RTX 3060, although the RTX 2060 is far superior to my current Asus Cerberus GTX 1050 Ti.
I got the 3060 12G for 390$ and the 2060S 8G is around 385-390$, maybe a little less if one is lucky. Now I know the 256 bit memory bandwidth is way faster than 192 bit of 3060. But I simply couldn't ignore the huge 12 GB tank of 3060.
An increase in memory without a decrease in the width of the memory interface would make this a 16GB card. Each chip is 32 bits wide so 6 x 32 = 192 bits, while 8 x 32 = 256 bit. Increasing from 1GB to 2GB chips means you get 12GB or 16GB of graphics buffer. Imagine if they released a 3060 super with 16GB. Anyone that bought a 3060 Ti or higher with only 8GB would feel quite gypped.
Also lower power draw, and running cooler while performing better.. So yes 2060s is close which i have and bought at day 1 release at msrp but i just got a 3060 12gb at 400 and i wish it was msrp but im fine because Ill always have a good card if anything happens!
Honestly have you ever seen such a suck ass performance jump for a 60 card? Literally garbage. i have a 2060 strix atm and no way would i pay 100gbp more for the super or 3060 with those figures. Nvidia just rebranding at this point.
I'm running 1080p on 32GB RAM and a Ryzen 5 stock speeds. Currently using RX580. Where should I invest my money? Is the 2060S a viable upgrade at all? Of the games I run (Cyberpunk being one of them), I don't get too many struggles with it running on ultra or nearly ultra. MSFS2020 would be the most significant because I can run it at High settings (mostly) and get good frame rates, but ultra is totally out of the question. I won't run 1440 or 4k because of my monitor is only FHD. And there's no way I can afford the 30xx series.
The joke is, in my country a 2060s is more expensive than 3060. I sold my rx 580 a month a go when the price is still good. If you want Big improvements then an a little bit of future proof then go for the 3060. Me myself considering to buy 2060 if the price of 3060 wont go down another $50-100 in 1 month.
Lol. That's pretty sad. Guess you'll have to play at 1080p now. 6GB on a new gpu is really not enough. 8GB is the sweetspot and 10-12GB is really good and will never run out.
@@silverwatchdog You guys exaggerate too much. Ultra settings are mostly not noticeably different from high settings, and 1440p high settings is usually fine with 6gb of vram
@@ThePipojp Well again it depends on the game. I have seen 1440p high use 6GB in newer games and 8GB on 4k high (ultra usually is about 500MB or so more but sometimes it's not even using more VRAM). Sure you can use medium but now there is a noticeable drop in quality. I also only play on Ultra if I can max out my monitor or it's a RPG game that I can achieve 60fps or more. But 6GB is not ideal for the future if you want to play on 1440p.

Frankly we all want a 3060 Ti. The 3060 Ti is the large upgrade in performance and price. The 2060 was not that fast compared to the previous gen because it was so much more expensive, it was actually a 1070 successor, not a 1060 successor, and the 3060 though cheaper is even worse, barely faster than the 2060 at all. The 3060 Ti is MUCH faster and MUCH cheaper than the previous year.
coming back to watch this video realizing how terrible the 4060 will be over the 3060, only to find out the 3060 was only a big improvement over the 2060, but not the 12gb or the super versions.
I don’t know what’s more disappointing here. The 2060 12GB or the 3060. The 3060 is actually barely faster and makes the 3060ti look like a steal. The 2060 12GB is just unecessary and useless. It's a great card for mining, but VRAM has never been a bottleneck on this card anyway as it's no good for anything above 1080p so that VRAM is just completed wasted.
@Garrus Vakarian I know. If we ignore the pricing, every single 3000 card except the 3060 leaves the 2000 series card in its dust. Even the super 2000 cards are left far behind. The 3080 which I have makes the 2080 super look very slow in comparison and compared to the regular 2080, its even worse.
@@silverwatchdog Well , the 3060 puts down 2060 Super as you see here , goes better than a 2070 and sometimes surpases 2070 Super too , so its well escalated . The 3060TI is a weird thing , there's so few of them and they are basically the same thing than a 3070 . Nvidia is doing strange movements but original 2060 was good escalated compared 1060 ones (and 1660) the problem is the low VRAM (Forza 5 doesnt run in a 2060 at max settings) , and 3060 is well escalated compared 2060 ones but this time they added enough VRAM for ensure ultra/max settings in 1080p for many years . The not normal thing is 3060 TI running like a 2080 but with such low VRAM that will make its life short (2-3 years because 8 is really low VRAM for 2021 , Forza 5 Max Settings 1080p gets already around 7.8 VRAM )
Still many people use the RTX 2060 for working in graphics design, rendering, sometimes the RTX 2060 has better performance than RX 5600 and RX 5700. You guys just see a GRAPHICS HARDWARE like a GAMING PRODUCT, so that make everything gone wrong. p/s : searched all over youtube and barely see anyone review GPU in the working way, 99% review by gamers, what is the joke here ? When Quadro gpus is crazy expensive, people will find another GPU
3060 is a very good card if the price is considered now. And for someone who is building for the first time won't be disappointed guaranteed. It has enough vram to get you through for at least 5/6 yrs from now on easily with ultra high settings. It is fact, no one compares GPUs one on one in reality. And 192b memory bus, by no means, is bad either. Be it any GPU, if you're satisfied with your GPU, your GPU is best of the world.
@@rimuu3032 there's other uses of VRAM other than gaming and mining. Have you ever heard of AI ? For running stuff like Stable Diffusion (text to image generation), Llama (think of it as a mini ChatGPT) and other powerful AI models locally on your computer, 8-12 GB of VRAM is close to be the bare minimum.

Stupid me placed the PC on the stupid position, so he could do that. I took it to the local PC repairer, he said there's a short circuit near the VGA port but he can't fix it. I just took my VGA to other repairer that more specialized in fixing VGA yesterday, he said it will take at least a week, but let see if they can fix it lol
Should I get an RTX 2060 or an RTX 3060? I'm getting a full pc build with an i5 12400f for light gaming streaming(csgo, fortnite, maybe gta5). The difference between them is 80eur. Is the 3060 worth it?
Remember some games are optimized differently...sometime. Sometime you can run a older game with a GTX 950 better then a GTX 1050 believe it or not. Its mostly to do with the engine and how the developers allocate some things to render. I can play some games with a newer card with low end graphics but still get only 10 fps more then an older card just because the game is not fully optimized for that card. Sometimes even just new drivers for a game can make a hell of a difference. Just because a card says 20, 30 ,40 in it, Does not mean its that much better. The RTX 2060 and 3060 is not that much of an upgrade and 5 to 12 fps boost over last gen is a lot. If the RTX 3090 cant even run some games at 60+ then a jump from 2060 to 3060 is not that much of a difference.
If you have an rtx 2060 or rtx 2060 super i see no point in upgrading to an rtx 3060 if the max resolution that you are gonna play on is 1440p. If you still want to upgrade then atleast go for 3070 and above maybe even the 3060ti
I was initially baffled by this too, but noticed that the memory bandwidth is significantly higher on the super due to the wider memory bus (256 bit, instead of 192 bit on the non-super). If NVIDIA wanted to re-release the super with more memory, they would have to go to 16GB of memory using 8 x 2GB chips. Each chip is 32 bits wide.

@@_jmbryan Im good, its perfect for my needs as I have a 1080 screen my games needs no more. Cyberpunk runs in with all in high with 50 fps average, but some people says if I would have a Ryzen 5 5600 it would reach to 70 fps (I actually have a Ryzen 3 3200).
I have a ventus oc gp ed 12gb 2060, ... when i got the 3060 i hardly noticed improvements, and the 3060 is half the size of the old one . Im installing a better cpu hopefully helps

Damn 720p is pretty garbage. I though that you actually needed to see the other people before fps mattered. 🤣 But in all seriousness 720p just looks so pixelated. I will easily accept 20% less fps just so I don't strain my eyes on 720p. Well I am actually the exact opposite of you though. I use 2160p (4k) at 120hz, which to call it high res would be an understatement. I really psychically can't run 720p on a 48" screen though. It really looks atrocious.
