You can go a step further and remove the MSRP as price points as well, should be looking at retail pricing period.

Figured I'd wait until the 3000 series came along to upgrade. But we all know how that has went. Refuse to overpay for these cards or any if it never gets rectified. Other hobbies to enjoy as well as other responsibilities more important to spend money on.

This car is even pointless to those who own a 1660Ti. A few frames of gain here and there. And considering the current scalp prices - just seen this card for already at $560 pricetag, and that's absolutely ridiculous.

With its speed, it compares to a EVGA 1660 Ti XC Gaming card I bought in 2018. My card gets 1850Mhz boost and the 3050 gets about that same amount. Granted, my card doesn't have RTX but that's all I'm missing. I paid $280. This 3050 will never be seen for $250.

I built my first PC in 2019 and boutgh a 580 8gb because I didn't want to spend the $$ for a 20 series as it seemed way too pricey, even though I could afford it back then. Now I'm obsessed with PC gaming and stuck on w/my 580 kicking myself. LOL. 580 is still a good card but DAMN IT. Funny enough some 580s are selling for like $300 now (bought mine on salefor $150 3 years ago).

They probably had to wait for enough chips that binned below 3060 spec to build up. I doubt this card is going to get a ton of restocks. Especially after the inevitable 3050 ti comes out.

This is the card I wanted to get becuase the TDP is low, it took too long to come out so I got a 3060 Ti instead. That's literally why Nvidia and AMD never release budget cards anywhere near the performance cards.

BUT we 100% needed extra versions of the 3080, 3070, 3090 and the useless 12gb non Ti 3060 before this probably according to Nidiva

I still ha e my zotac 1070 I bought for $670 Cdn in 2016. I did have an opportunity to buy a 2080ti when I upgraded to a ryzen 3700x in 2019, but passed on it as being too expensive. Joke's on me I guess.

You cant cap msrp because new items and more advanced technology makes them more expensive. A good example is the rnd between the old 24nm and the new 5nm chips. If msrp is also limited the only products you will get are ones that break after a few months. Companies need to make money limiting one resource of income will only affect other ones.

The margin between the 3050's actual price and the 6600's actual price is very small in India as well. There is a massive performance gain in favour of the 6600 for just a little more and I feel Nvidia's AIB partners may have killed this card with their greed.

Also, last generation was underwhelming, so (especially for the price) the performance should actually be higher: nothing less than a 2060 Super... at ~$200 USD. This card is not a good product: just better compared to something like the RX 6500 XT.

@@mvmhunterkiller They did sent and email about it, LTT managed to work the correct numbers in while GN said they had just completed benchmarking and was less than 12 hours before they shoot the video. It's not like it's a huge bump 2-3% over the base card at best.

In UK 6500xt in stock, and not only that, its on sale for 199 Pounds (tax included) so I checked exchange, its 260$ (tax included), reason people don't buy it there is no use for this card, there is no point upgrading if you have older sistem with pcie 3.0, and its like 90% of pc still runs on it, so people who have gtx 1060 or rx 570 or better there is no point to upgrade it, it will be worse then those cards...

1650 is a plain hot garbage. if you can, do upgrade it. Even this 3050 will be a good upgrade.

same here i bought the 3060 ti to for $769 but 826 with tax which i that was so trash but then canceled cause i really thought to myself. why iam even buying this? there’s no games that i play that require a 3060 ti. if i end up do buying it i want to have the gear for it like 1440p i’m on 1080p and i’m used it since i was born with it.

There is overall inflation building up fast and obviously the big tech companies are aware of the situation. Don't bet on prices getting back to normal - possibly ever.

You were right and wrong at the same time. The 20 series is definitely better then the 20 series but it depends which one you get. For example the 3070 is better then the 2060, 2070, 2080 and on par with the 2080ti, the 3060ti is about the same as the 2080 and the 3060 is around the 2060 super and 2070 in terms of power. The 3050 is the weakest one and would be on par with the regular 2060.

Now I just need to wait for ryzen zen 4 to come out and I can upgrade my 10700k to a ryzen 7900x, my 32gb of ddr4 ram to 64gb of ddr5 ram and my m.2 to plce gen 4 and I’ll be all set lol.

Im looking around for components for a potential build at the end of the year but the 3060ti for example, is freaking $1650 AUS. Thats nuts.

I got mine with a strix b550 mb on the new egg shuffle for about $740. That's a $180 mb, so I still way overpaid. But it's much better than the rx 570 I was using on my main system.

@@Lucrativecris depending on your cpu and what youre doing will determine how well the card does, but if its standard use and gaming at 1080p; the only difference would be 10-30ish fps at ultra settings. And if you went 20 series. A 2070super is just about the same as a 3060ti with less efficiency

In a video somewhere Linus mentioned that inflation is not inflation. Grand example used "A 40" TV used to cost a fortune, nowadays that's not the case", note not the exact quote. As tech gets better the price doesn't necessarily get higher it's the same with storage or pc's in general. And realistically the 3050 is just another 50 card, if you want a better 2060 you can get the 3060 or up. The prices at the moment are just another layer of wack to add to it. Somewhere Linus also mentioned, that the 50 series cards used to launch at around 150, this being launched at around 200-250 is just Nvidia using the situation before third parties make the profit they (Nvidia) can make.

Tbh I don’t think any of us want a reset to pricing inflation, things were pretty expensive beforehand tbh if it wasn’t the best of the best flagship gpu. Getting my 1070 in 2017 for $375 wasn’t bad, but $800 for a 3070 Ti @ MSRP is getting ridiculous in 2021.

3050 is 69% faster than 1650 and double the vram but only 6% faster than a 1660s. I also upgraded from a 1650 to a 3050 and love it.

I'd say save up and get it while the price is good. We can run all the games we play on ultra or very high

It is fine so long as everyone tells us that is what happened. If they did not disclose this it would look far worse. People screw up, fortunately EVGA admitted it before people spent their money and before the reviews went live.

The RTX 3050 is 2% more powerful than a 1660 Super. Your 1660 Ti is 3% more powerful than the RTX 3050 although without the RT and Tensor cores. An RTX 2060 Super or an RTX 3060 would be an approximate 35% improvement over your current card and therefore a meaningful upgrade. The 1660 Ti is comparable in power to the 2015 Titan X, a 1000 USD card or the 2016 GTX 1070, a 450 USD card.

@@SenorBootcamp If you can find it for 700 Euros/USD or less in these crazy times go for it. The war in Ukraine will only lead to more GPU price increases following the mining craze and pandemic. Power is comparable to a 2080 Super. You can easily sell your GTX 1660 Ti for around 400 to 450 USD, so even if you are ovepaying for the 3060 Ti, your current GPU will cover a lot of the cost.

If you rocking the z390 chipset there's no big reasons to build another computer! This is not happening only in GPU's... It's happening in a lot of stuff. CPU's, M.2's,.... If you have an Intel 9900k for example, changing to another generation you'll get a 20-40 fps increase ONLY. 3 CPU generations after and that's what you get. Andddd not to mention the insane TDP they 'drink'. They draw almost the double of the power. Double the power but only a 20-40 fps increase?!? Yupppp, it's that bad. Even the M.2 gen4 drives can be slower than M.2 gen3 drives. It's crazy! That chipset is gold. I may be exaggerating a bit but the truth won't be far from what I've said. Now if you want to run 4K... Those 20-40 fps can make the difference for sure. But I think the budget will be around the 4k mark rather. The GPU alone will hit the 2k. The 4k monitor will be also expensive...

can`t understand what`s wrong with rx6500xt, bacause rx6600 is better than rtx3050

@@robertbodnar8745 6600 is better than both cards, by a decent amount. In the us, its cheaper than both depending on where you get it from

AMD is for people who can't afford NVidia.

@@TheSearchForTruth88 AMD is for people who know how to spend their money if they dont need the special features (cuda cores, better rt). Why would i spend more money for the same performance? eg. 6600 vs 3060

@@anonymouseniller6688 if you think about it 3050(250$ MSRP) vs 6500xt(200$ MSRP) the 3050 leaves it in the dust AMD was just trying to get any kind of gpu into people's hands for an affordable price, while NVIDIA can say "oh that GPU is a cash-grab that can barely run games, here come buy OUR cash-grab for only $50 more that actually runs like a semi-decent GPU"

Maybe once Intel enters the market it will kill some of the demand, and prices will drop. I would love to update my gtx 1060 3gb, even with an rtx 3050.

Hmm. I have myself a 1660 ti that I bought in 2019. 1 hour ago I upgraded from i5-9400f to Ryzen 5 5600 because I wanted just a little bit better performance in competative games and light video editing. I'm myself really happy with the 1660 ti and play less demanding single player games when I do so I'm happy with it. However it's maybe not the best GPU to buy now. It maybe depends on the country but where I live 3050 is sold for around the price of a 6600 and 6600 XT which is way to much. I would recommend to try check out prices on the AMD cards too that I mentioned and see if you maybe can find a good deal on them.

@@Gridlocked The 3050 are in most titles performing 2 fps slower than the 1660 ti so it's not that obvious. The best thing to is choose by price.
