Worth noting the 2048 textures will not impact framerate at all unless you run out of video RAM - which is not going to happen with an 8GB card in iRacing.
I run iRacing on Triple 1440p capped at 120fps with 5600x & 2070 Super. Using CapframeX, there was no difference in FPS between the Ryzen 3600 & 5600x. Also no difference if I underclock 5600x to 4.1ghz or let it boost to over 4.8ghz. I believe the "iRacing is very CPU dependant" is greatly exaggerated, at least when already using fairly modern CPUs. I also went from triple 1080 on a Ryzen 2200g w/RX580 8gb and upgraded to the Ryzen 3600, again seeing no FPS improvements. Swapped in the 2070S and got huge gains. Get the best GPU you can if you are after FPS.
Idk if you own this. But I’d like to see the performance if you were to play CoD: Warzone. And when streaming or making videos are you playing in 5K x 2K?
I play warzone, halo and fortnite. Most of the time I use the full 5120 x 1440, lately I've been just running standard 2560*1440 due to the stretching being super annoying in warzone. They all run beautifully. I don't change anything when I stream and record, I just downscale to 1080. It doesn't really matter though becuaee I'm using NDI to stream and record. I send a lossless signal from my gaming machine and cqp on the streaming machine.
i know im late but you should look up how to optimize windows 10 on idle i use 2% of my processor when gaming like 60% max i also have i79700 but not k removing all the bloat will deff get you more frames
mate your video setting is a mess, there is so many things wrong in there, FXAA should be off, sharpering ON, AA Sample x4 when you play in this resolution. Vsync ON in game and latency in Ultra in Nvidia control panel. And do not touch the memory load of the GPU or RAM, set that back on default. Crowds and Sky on medium. Remove any filter where you have pcf$ filter. 2 pass trees ON. try and let me know! cheers
I just bought a G9 odyssey and a 10700K intel i7, 32GB , msi 3070 suprim. hopefully its worth it, I mainly play wow, path of exile and some single player games like cyberpunk etc. its a start atleast.
@@ClydeW893 Its handling just fine. Its even running a LG 49" 4k tv togheter with the odyssey. mostly for chrome surfing on the LG though. the 240hz problem was fixed with a firmware update around December 2020.
@@Smuthole That's awesome to hear man! I have a G9 unopened right now but not a strong enough card and the only ones I am finding are 3070s, not any 3080s or 90s. You're able to get 240hz on the 3070?
@@ClydeW893 Yes im running 240hz. Im not a super-gamer anymore as I've aged but this monitor is insane for even windows, surfing, study, work.......I don't even use my 49 LG 4k anymore for Netflix, I just use the Samsung. I could never go back to a dual monitor setup after having this odyssey anyways.......I was testing it for a week before I decided. now I've had it for 3 months. It went up in price also since I bought it, in norway.
Greg i came across this video and I as well own a msi 3070 and have been going mad trying to figure out if I should go triple 27/32 1080s and prioritize frames over resolution or go g9. Option 3 triple 1440s but that one give me almost no confidence as I like you prefer having solid frames. What would you do in my shoes? Thanks
Well think about this.. if you run triple screen setup. It’ll be 2560x1440= 3,686,400 megapixels then x 3 monitors is over 11million mega pixels. Then the G9 is 5120 x1440 = 7,372,800 megapixel so you should see better performance with the G9 then you would with a triple screen setup.
I had to use 3 different usb sticks as the monitor didn't like the other ones. It just happened to be the most expensive and largest capacity one that worked, it was a fucin nightmare
@@GTGREG 5 different 2.0s all Fat32 fully, 4 different 3.0s all fat32 fully, only the file on it. IDKY but Win10 doesn't even acknowledge the USB cable from the pc to monitor. doesn't pick up on it as a drive. but the usb right into the service slot in the monitor never works. always NO USB DETECTED. might be bad usb ports
I was looking for better performance. My triples were only doing about 90 fps on average they were good with gsync but I figure I would reduce a 3rd of the gpu load for streaming and recording. I'll be going back soon tho, there's nothing like trips
@@GTGREG would you do trip 32" G7's for the same 1000R curve, or does that extra curve distort things b/c some folks say racing sims weren't built for that curvature? Curious on your thoughts after using the G9 w/ 1000R curve for a while now... since you'll go back to a triple setup - question of the century here: whats the 'best' setup for immersion if you have the space? ty!
i paid over by $300, I recently acquired a 3080ti and a 3090. both were regular purchases. There is a 3080 in the iracing forums for sale now. They are showing up now, im sure youll find one soon. :)
@@GTGREG 3080 are going for 1.7-2.5k + right now... it's insane. I just got my rtx 3070 oc for 1k thankfully but even that is overpriced by about 300 of retail currently. MSRP is $499 but that ain't going back for a while lol
@@danoelker1144 thats insane. I just got a full system with i7 11700 + Rtx 3070 and the Samsung G9 120 Hz 5120×1440 for 2K. 💥💥 seemed like a good deal for me
