It’s a lovely Unit ! I actually have ordered one for the kitchen because I think it just blends in lovely for that ! I had a Naim Muso and whilst it was a good speaker I found much better if I was willing to spend a bit more which I know is not really a comparative but I went from the muso to the McIntosh RS250 and I never ever looked Back! Absolutely amazing Bit of kit !

I'm running a Ruark R5 with 2 x Multiroom MRx speakers, all wireless, that I originally intended to play in separate rooms. I did notice that at low level volumes bass detail was present but not filling the room. At high levels was fine. I have purchased a Ruark RS1 sub which has made a huge difference at low level volumes and brings it all together. Although not designed for a R5 it does work, line out fixed not variable, so a little hassle calibrating. Sounds amazing, the R410 has Class D amp as does the RS1. Becareful to let the softer & warmer class AB amps to shine through as the sound is so much more realistic - good positioning a must

I have the original R7 and 12 years on, it still produces a brilliant sound. I get so many comments from visitors who love the beautiful wood Finnish and the clear pure sound.

Great to have some top notch competition in this sector and ruark have done a superb job with this. But IMHO the Muso 2nd Gen Bentley Edition is still in a different league on quality of finish. The Jury is still out though on which sounds better as I've yet to hear this R410. Great review!

Shame it hasn’t got a built in cd player like my R5, which appears to be more of an “all in one system” than this new one 🤷🏼‍♂️

Rarely use CD on my R5 but I am glad that it is there and I have that option. Would be nice to have the screen update, extra power and new additional software but I wouldn't give up the inbuilt CD player for it at more additional cost. Think that the dream combo if you had a really large space would be the R7 paired with this R410.

Hi Paul, If you'd like to listen to CDs with R410 you can do so by connecting an external CD/DVD rom to it. As soon as you plug the device in, R410 will recognise that a CD is connected and display this on the source list and you can then control its function with the RotoDial or remote exactly as you would an inbuilt player. I hope this helps. :)

I would likely consider this more if they had put a built-in CD player as it would reduce the clutter of components which is a reason why one considers an all-in-one system in the first place. With a built-in CD player it would have been more competitive with the Technics Ottava in the "All-in-One" market. Kudos to the Ruark R410 having a phono input.

@@whatever_shaker Hey bud. Thanks for clarifying. Yes of course. I love the tech and the ‘see we got no holes on the unit’ aesthetic of Muso 2, but what I found lacking in Muso 2 is the vocal processing. I listen to a lot of vocal heavy songs and it was kind of jarring. I found zero problems like that in r410. Also, Ruark fills up the room like anything. Go for it! I hope I have answered your question. Fire away more, if you want to.

For this product to be areal classy hifi gear it should be three times larger for bigger room sound.

It wasn't lacking for a bedroom or medium/small living room.I'd say bedroom mainly. In a few months the large scale R810 will be released if you want to blow more than your bedroom door off.

I have a naim MK1, any of the limitations of included streaming is irrelevant, as I use a wiiim streamer to analogue in, which makes it future proof, the speaker has six separate 75 watt amplifiers, for each driver, as an engineer, the naim is far superior

I own the Ruark R410 and the REVO Super System: The Ruark is more modern in regards of the connectivity, the display and the remote control - but - the sound of the Revo is much better! I was disappointed about the sound of the Ruark due the mids are weak, total in the back, not transparent and with the current version you can't tweak it with equalizer (just Base / treble). So overall if you buy the Ruark for the modern touch ok, if you are looking for good music quality - don't expect too much

Its is a copy of bose wave sound system and the radio active wireless control pod. People who know about that system understand this.

In had a Bose and the Bose is nothing like this, hard to quantify this is like 3 times the power and clarity and frequency range is vastly superior the bose is decent little unit in fact underrated and probably their best product

Ruark are the feeder drug to the Naim Uniti series. If I ever want to upgrade my R7 mk3 that would be the level, but I'm not. The R810 will slightly narrow the gap, meanwhile this 410 should light up our bedrooms.

In actual fact having listened to both , The Ruark actually is more musical and has more detail and I dont think its fair to call this a bedroom system at all

Think I’ll stick to the Bose Home Speaker 500. I have two of them and wouldn’t swap for anything else out there. From what I see the Bose Home Speaker 500 does exactly the same as this over priced speaker.

Bose sound doesn't come close to Ruark in my experience and I own products from both companies.
