Look at a screenshot of vid editing (or watch a tutorial, if it’s not immediately obvious), you’ll quickly realize how silly that comment is. Producing music after the fact is what soundtrack composers do and it’s a lot, a lot more complicated than editing vid clips to a beat.
Getting this soft trucks was a breakthrough for me! I got them to practice during winter and it only took a single week of practicing my ollies with it to achieve what years of skateboarding could not: finally feeling confident/satisfied with my ollie technique. It was amazing how removing the rolling wheels (and all the risks/variables they imply) allowed me to completely focus on the technique. I believe that using them removes a lot of variables from the equation (speed, balance, sliping, trucks hitting your legs....) such as your brain power can be all dedicated to figuring out the trick (after figuring it out you can take that knowledge to the actual skateboards and deal with the remaining variables more easily). Plus the practice time/energy is spent more efficiently as you can make a whole bunch of attempts back to back in less time: you don't have to ride around, dodge anybody or retrieve your board. Dynamics are a little different since they do not slide in the ground as wheels do (lot of tricks involve wheels sliding during pop/scoop). Finally, this helps a lot not just with flip tricks. They can be used to practice getting in and out of slides/grinds (as John shows). I have been practicing getting into fs lipslides adding a flatbar to the mix.
This is helpful to hear. I've wanted to getting some, but im worried they would just teach me some bad habits and wouldnt translate. Ordering them now lol
Watching this, the solution seems obvious. Instead of the trucks, they need to invent a super squishy mat that you can practice on with a real skateboard.
I feel like I need to share my case here. I got this soft trucks more than a year ago to be able to practice during the winter season of my country... I live in an apartments building, so noise complaints from using it indoors was a concern for me. So I have used this soft trucks in combination with a squishy mat. I guess the pop depletes a little, but the "reduced pop" has never prevented me from training with it and actually progressing with the actual skateboard. For instance, just one week of practicing ollies was the breakthrough I needed to focus on improving my ollie technique once for all (From several years of skateboarding I have never felt as confident with my ollie technique as I feel now).
I really loved the video editing with the music directly after your thoughts on the skateboard :) your landings matching with we drum sound felt extremly right :D
Dude! So close to a million subscribers! Congratulations Mr Hill! 😊 Love all your content man. Stay true to yourself and your art. I can't ever see you failing and your always evolving and getting better. Love from Houston TX
Some new generations skaters are going to use those soft truck boards to perfect balance on landing tricks. They are going to get better at doing big tricks down big gaps faster.
Can you put those rubber trucks on any board? Maybe rubber front and normal back trucks to make the “roll back” feel more normal for flip practice? If you’re in Boulder while in CO, don’t miss Rincon Argentino for some dank eats! 2525 Araphoe 👍🏻
I wonder if you're someone being called out by a creator indirectly, like the creepy guy, it ruins the illusion that you're part of the audience that the RU-vidr is talking to.
⚡The ear is not the truth, the ear is not the heart. No matter how much we hear the truth with the ear we still lack the truth in our own hearts, if we don't hear the truth about ourselves in our hearts we will need to hear it from others with our ear which will only numb the pain of not listening to it with the heart. The holy life, rest well, eat well ect gives us the power to have an inner motivation, an inner love that comes directly from God to our hearts a direct deposit, this voice and feeling gives us truths that tells us how wonderful and valuable we are, we feel self-love with our hearts so that we no longer depend on listening with our ears for it. If the ear knows the truth but not our heart, we will continue to feel rejected, inferior, superior, unloved, etc. Sacrifice is needed to win the inner voice of self-love. People want to feel how much God loves them, but they don't want to live in holiness, so they will continue to know the truth but without feeling the truth, without the Energy. the holy life is full of benefits. One benefit is the internal affection of god that is given to us to know how much we love ourselves.
I havent skated in a min cuz life been going crazy and just flatground bores u out of it cuz i dont have a car to get to a park often but this makes me wanna go and skate rn in the middle of the night 😭
You’ll probably not see this comment but I love your videos you give me so much motivation. You just show the real side of skating just learning new things and messing around with it just seems your truly having fun all the time. Keep doing what your doing please we love it. I better see a switch flip crook next vid😤😂❤️
Hey man i dont mean anything bad but im getting annoyd because the music is very loud compared to speaking. I always have to put sound on low or else the music hurts my ears. Ps im sorry for bad english
Soft trucks aren't really for trampolines, they're for carpet skating to give height for pop. Probably fine on trampolines, but actual "trampoline" trucks need a hard body.
I like this dude. He just dont care about what the «cool» skaters think. He got his own thoughts and style. He is always happy and puts out positive energy. Keep going John👍 i am rooting for you✌️
I've literally been using the same rubber trucks on the same board for almost 14 years ( as I use this setup for practice in my house). If anyone is curious and wants another person's opinion in conjunction with John's, these trucks are worth it, especially for beginners. Definitely great for building confidence when learning tricks.
I remember following you waaaay back in Cinn when you lived in that apartment when you use to build your boards on the balcony. Lol. Now almost at 1 million. Congrats
