Think for yourself and share your thoughts with others. The optimal combination of individualism and collectivism: collectividualism..

I agree. I would also add care about yourself and care about others. I am of the belief that we need to strive toward uplifting ourselves and others, and that as a striving ethical individualist I need to, out of my own free will, care about the well being and freedom of others and think, act, and speak with courage and integrity in support of ethical individuals and ethical collectives. Not an easy thing to do. However, I hope I am progressing. I think the majority of neuroscientists would agree that collectividualism is good for our health. Dr. Dan Siegel uses the term MWe to refer to the individual and the collective.

It is the ethical individualists in Waldorf schools that will resist the attempted take over of Waldorf schools by social justice activists and BLM indoctrination resources and training.

I do not see them unfortunately. The resistance to Foundation Studies by 75 percent of teacher trainees of our modern world was a clear warning that we failed to hear.

I would really be interested in your thoughts on a recent attack on Steiner's reputation on this website: mileswmathis.com/steiner.pdf He is describes as a Jew, a Gay, and an intelligence agent whose wife was his "handler."

@@Cathari This has the usual criticisms of theosophy. What I found fascinating was that he criticized Steiner's Philosophy Of Freedom. This is rarely if ever done. It gives me a chance to refute it if I could make it a priority. But freedom can not be resolved with a philosophical argument. You know it through experiencing what Steiner calls the "impulse of freedom" which has been verified by cognitive scientists. @@Cathari I could not read past the first page, but thank you for the link. It is helpful to be reminded of the criticisms against Steiner and Waldorf education. I wish I could have read past the first page, but I think I was able to get the gist of it. Steiner is often misquoted and misunderstood. For me, whenever I "intuit" something that Steiner says as being against what I believe to be true, I have learned to keep an open mind and keep reading and studying Steiner. Steiner often says in many different ways "Investigate what I say and find out for yourself if it is true or not." That takes integrity and humility and being an ethical individualist I think. It is interesting that many people described Steiner as being a Jew and others criticized him as being anti-Semitic. I was not aware of him being described as a Gay or an intelligence agent. So I think we need to keep an open and skeptical mind with everything, right? And keep reading and studying The Philosophy of Freedom.

@@sharleenl1054 The author of that article, though I respect him for some of the research he does, has truly lost me with this assault upon the character of the Master. He reveals himself to be totally ignorant of the esoteric knowledge the Master attempted to articulate for us, and also displays a nasty arrogant impulse streaming through his own personality. That being said, I intend to examine what he states more closely in order to defend the reputation of the Master to the degree that I am able.

My experience of anthroposophy today although fairly limited is that some followers seem to be a collectivist ethical herd of strider followers and not ethical individualists.
@tennisincrewe

That's the crux of the matter isn't it. That the collectivist see something untrustworthy in the core of the human being.

I listened again. I think we are seeing that this statement is not true (in Step #6) "a person who develops into a free individuality can be trusted to do good." Many free individuals cannot be trusted to do good because they have not achieved the moral development needed. I think we need the Threefold Social Order that Steiner talked about to help us understand the importance and place of the ethical and free individualist within the collective and not separate. The free individuality who recognizes this can then be trusted to do good.

Sad to say you lack any clue of what freedom means or what a free individuality is. Since you make an effort, you can only have an impediment (bias?) to learning.
