This is a gem of a chapter and Schelling is truly an imginative thinker ..... and then there is Hegel later on in the same chapter, which is absolutely sublime (especially the part about the process of contradiction as the motor of evolution of consciousness)
Thank you for all the work you do. I’m wondering what the best primary text is to start with both Schelling and Fichte, in your opinion? And if it would be wise to read one before the other?
Fichte thought freedom, but Schelling experienced it. Then enfolded it in a theosophy rather than effecting it further into the world. Steiner himself managed this in many respects by creating new artforms, economics, agriculture, medicine, etc…..truely phenomenal!

Other Steiner readings in preparation ? 😇 The argument of Schelling related to the object being where its process is, reminds very much Steiner's own argument in his Philosophy of Freedom, chapter 5 : " Set the plant before yourself. It connects itself, in your mind, with a definite concept. Why should this concept belong any less to the whole plant than leaf and blossom ?" - Steiner has simply called "concept" the lawfulness of the object that Schelling calls "process".

Matthew, I want to share a few thoughts about God with you. Your thoughts and your content are very profound (which means 'intensive', in Logical language). But what is intensive has to become extended eventually (that's Speculative Logic !). Which means that you will become famous ... (that can be a burden) There is only One Mind (the Cosmic Mind, the Mind of God !), what you call panpsychism, but it is fragmented in billions of individual pieces. And "our" Mind becomes conscious of Himself notably through the Internet, where people can share their perspective on the experience of God (the experience of Being !). This is what is meant by those who say "We are all One" ... This is amazing for those who attain a certain level of consciousness, but this also means that each individual (a fragment of God !) does not fully belong to himself, but to the totality ... "We", as God !, are in the process of re-membering, or re-creating ourselves (the fragments coming back together, in ordinary metaphorical language). We are becoming Whole again (it will still take Time of course, but that's why we are living "apocalyptic Times" as Christians call this). I share the perspective of the Whole on my channel, I share links, I connect the dots, etc. The insufficient aspect of your perspective, Matthew, is that you are a scholar ... You are the best in terms of cosmic and romantic understanding of Nature and formal philosophy, but your positition as a scholar (or maybe the nobility of your soul ! or both !) prevents you from incorporating the political aspect in all its complexity (right-wing and left-wing). But I want you to know that you are amazing ! I will keep walking my path and trying to share my Light, for the better ...
