Ángels: Hey god why’d you say your own name in vain. God: because my father left me, so saying that is the only remnants of the little aspect of life I’ve lived with him.
that moment (at 3:14) is so beautiful, when rudy stumbles a bit in the poem and the crowd gives him love... what I love so much about the Write About Now community. There's always so much love in the room. I performed my first poem here and I can't wait to go back. The best part of the night are the people you'll meet.
I'm watching his other performances where he aces this, but I still like this the best. Where he's nervous, the way he stutters and speaks too fast - it's all so genuine. His other performances are just too rehearsed, a lot of that emotion from the gut is just lost compared to this one.
"Sometimes I pray that God somehow turns you back into one of my ribs just so I would never have to spend an entire day without you." Damn. Confirmed: Rudy is actually a genius.
I love when he said "That's why sometimes when we hold hands, every so often, I hold on a little too tight. I just don't want to lose you again," and some woman screamed yes. She felt that in her soul and so did I.
"I wanna be your ex-boyfriend's stunt man. I wanna do everything he never had the courage to do....like trust you." I want to live a second life as a guy to tell this to a girl so she can light up. And then, I want to live a third life as myself where I didn't hear this poem until after my boyfriend used this line on me and I feel harder for him. This is beautiful.
When he said, "I'd massage your back until your skin sings songs your lips don't even know the words to", I lost it. Chills, tears (from both sadness & the beauty of his words), and screamed, "Yes!!!" way too many times.
"If I woke up one day and decided I was gonna write about love, I would write about how I love you the way I loved to learn how to ride a bike. Scared, but wreckless. With no training weels or elbow pads so my scars can tell the story of how I fell for you." 💗💗💗💗
I NEVER get tired of listening to Rudy. I have heard this same poem and the entire love poems series at least 10 times and i still love every single one and never skip them. A man this good with words is so sexy!
When he says “I swear when our lips touch I can taste the next sixty years of my life.” I felt that and I had to pause it and just take it all in. 🙃🙃❤️❤️
I also work at a starbucks, and I love it when people come in and meet people they end up meshing well with. I love it when people hit on the baristas sincerely - it's such a beautiful spark. And this reminds me not only of that, but of the amazing power of poetry ( we all write new things for love and lust) but so few are as stunning as this. P.s favorite bit: "I want to be your exboyfriend's stunt man. I want to do everything he didn't have the courage to do. Like trust you."
The past life part really made me tear up and when he says he used the coins on his eyes as bus fair just so he could come back to earth to meet her 👌👌👌 WOW! That's love! Great poem! Great share!
True definition of a man. We sometimes lose ourselves in masculinity and don't spend the time to truly express what we are actually feeling in our heart of hearts💯
"I love you the same way I learned how to ride a bike - Scared, but reckless, with no training wheels or elbow pads so my scars can tell the story of how I fell for you". OMG that's adorable
One of my absolute favorite love poems. It always make me sob with a deep knowing of the love that I desire, I love that I am, the love that we all are ❤ Breathtakingly beautiful
damn... same here man. I think as a kid I was conditioned by cartoons and tv shows that these live poem shows are stupid. Because in the cartoons they would show a character on stage wearing all black, and the audience would rapidly snap their fingers in unison when they got the feels, lol. But if I can find live shows like this in the San Jose area, I will have to go check it out :)
I really didn’t even know he was messing up at first until he started reciting lines he already said. Anywho yeah I loved this poem!! Waiting on God to send me a man like this!
I love how it sounds like my friend who is a schizophrenic and a meth head. He gets all excited about something and starts skipping all over the place with hyperbole, but this is more structured and it’s poetic. love the writing.
“I wanna do everything he never had the courage to do...I wanna trust you!!” Heart melting, cheek to cheek grinning, tripped over my own foot, fell and landed at your feet-just to meet you kind of love! 🥰
Young man don't every STOP keep adding to that live poem it was amazingly beautiful.. God has granted you a gift of words.... never stop .. Thank you.. you made me feel like I was that young lady at Starbucks I loved it and I know you can't hear me but I don't stop snapping the whole time you were speaking... 💖💖
I'm aware of the differences between the words. Its called Socratic irony. I'm not going to list the similarities in passion and pain I have with this video, on youtube. Thanks anyway.
I haven’t felt this awestruck by any poem on here in a real long time... my jaw dropped and eyes widened when he started talking about coming back to find her
Damn he stole me!! Where are men like him! I know one friend who is like this but he’s been my very good friend for a very long time but he’s got this passion! He sent this to me so I’d know what he was talking about
