Rufous-crowned Bee-eaters are agile, fast moving birds capable of catching insects in flight. Recent studies show, they are only found in the Philippines and does not occur in the New World, as its scientific name suggests: Merops americanus. Rufous-crowned Bee-eaters are currently listed as Least Concern by the IUCN.
