I bought this winch and installed it and when i went to do the intial setup where you pull out the line and respool under pressure I noticed it was on the spool backwards ( like it is spooling in the over the top or feeding out over the top) When I unspooled it again I thought it would be an easy fix but you cant just change the rope and rewind unless you rewind it backwards so I use the out button to go in and the in button to go out. I tried to contact them and they will not answer, they answered one time and suggested I had hooked it up wrong but it is proper. I might have to send it back because I am worried that it will not brake properly this way. Looks good but how on earth can it leave the factory working backwards?
Maybe it’s a hit or miss. Yea if it’s defective, definitely return it. I have used mine twice now when I got stuck and so far it is good! Hopefully you get yours resolved!
@@donlyl3 I am wondering if there is a way for the spool to be on backwards like flipped end to end, looking at your winch, is the end of the rope on the left side? I know yours is on a hitch but facing the winch is the rope connection on the left side of the winch and your winch rolls in and out under the roller not over the top right?
Did you try to disconnect winch while you change batteries on the remote? So far mines are working 🤞🏼 so haven’t gotten a chance to play around with it yet with that type of issue.
@@donlyl3 yeah I’ve tried disconnecting main power for a few minutes and also replaced batteries in remote. They were regime until main battery ran low during winching, then when I recharged the main battery, the tomorrow will not pair anymore. Doesn’t seem to be any buttons to force them to pair and no manufacturer website to order new transmitter from. Ugh
Sorry to hear that! Where did you purchase it? Have you tried checking on Amazon? Click on the Rugcel winch store and click on the “ask a question” maybe you’ll get an answer from there. They also have the fb page that link. Rugcel.com and email info@rugcel.com. Hopefully you’ll get an answer from them! Good luck!
