Your scope a 30mm tube? I got the 77/44 and tried putting a 2-7 Burris on it and the tube isnt long enough for the way Ruger spaced out the ring slots, so cant really get a good eye relief with that scope. Im considering a 1x like leupold a 1-4x20. I dont want a over powered scope for it. I think a 3x9 is a bit much for timber hunting. I like a lower power starting range. Sometimes when deer come in close in low light in dark woods 3x is difficult to get on target.
