These are amazing sights. I'm getting excellent groupings with them. Took 5 minutes to install and after a slight adjustment I'm really impressed. Also wanna mention Harlan is very polite and easy to deal with and I wouldn't hesitate to do business with Them in the future.
I've been interested in the Ruger American for some time now; But when they introduced the ranch version, in 7.62 x 39, the first thing I thought was that this thing is just begging for a set of iron sights; This is the perfect gun and caliber for a compact "ready to go anywhere" rifle with no fragile optics on it. Thanks for producing this video, I didn't know that iron sights were even a possibility on this gun until now.
I picked up an NDS 55 and NDS 56 for my Ruger American Predator 5.56 with a 22" barrel and this set up works flawlessly. I had it sighted in at 100 yards in about 15 rounds (adjusting for elevation only). The parts are very well made and worth the price.
@NoDakSpud, I've had my rifle for a few years now and I was dreaming of a set of irons. But now that i've found your product on youtube... i can't find your product to purchase. I'm really hoping i'll be able tot find it on PSA soon. This is a game changer for the ranch!
I have several of the Ruger American ranch rifle in both 762 and 556. I can’t find the sites listed for sale anywhere. Where would one go to find them?
Hey guys. I am absolutely devastated that these aren't available anymore (seemingly). Is there any way, at all, for me here in Norway, to get my hands on a set? :(
I just received my sights for my 7.62x39 Ruger Ranch. They are easy to install and work amazing . Very happy with these sights and great customer service from NoDak Spud.
@@thirdlantern just the skinner scout rail irons with a Vortex Scout scope. The irons on the Skinner Scout rail are pretty accurate, but I did replace the original AR front sight with a florescent sight.
We just got in a batch of A1 forgings so we won't be able to get the other front sights on the mill until early April. The retro stuff takes precedence.
No, I thought the barrel diameter on the 350's would be the same because of the 1/2x28 thread pitch, but it is not. What we've found out from the hive is that the 7.63x39 is around .750" and the 350's are around .730"-.740". So once we get some open machine time we will be making another front sight for those models.
Just grabbed myself a 7.62x39 model and absolutely love it. I looked on your website and noticed that the NDS-55 rear sight is out of stock. Are you aware if any other aftermarket rear peep sights are compatible with the NDS-58? Thanks!
We will have more NDS-55 rear sights available the week of Nov 29th. If you want to use something else it will have to have an aperture that is around 1.400" from centerline of the bore.
Have been suggesting an open sight option. Does the fron sight stay put? Was thinking of one that screwed onto the barrel thread and also tightened like this. A see through scope mount would complete the setup
The front sight will be fine if you follow the instructions and install it properly. If you have concerns you can always coat the inside ring with red locktite or something similar to give added adhesion.
We just finished machining up 2 new versions of the front sights. It will take until early July before we have them back from anodizing. They are slightly different in how they clamp down, with a split ring on the bottom. There will be 2 versions; one for .750" barrels, and the other for .730" barrels. You will need to provide a good measurement when ordering so we can get you set up with the correct model.
@@houstoncowdog Yes, but there are 2 versions of the 7.62x39 barrels. One with a step up (early), and one with a more straight profile at the muzzle. (newer production). I have been working on a flash hider for the stepped barrel which will give you more bearing surface to mount the front sight base.
They are currently at anodizing. Probably have them ready for sale the week of July 26th. Keep an eye on the website or email Harlan to get on the notification list.
The 7.62x39 will be the next front sight we will do. But the 300BLK may work with the same unit. Can you measure your barrel diameter at 1" back? The more data we have the better.
If the rear sight pic rail was extended for the purpose of turning it into a scout rifle, I bet you guys would sell em faster than you could make them!
We'll have to see what the differences are in the barrel profile. The thread pitch is the same 5/8-24, but the pics I've seen look different than the 7.62/300BL barrels.
We will next be doing a version for the .750" diameter barrels. Can you get a good measurement on you barrel? Right behind the thread protector, and back about 1.250".
@@danstrav1788 Thank You. That corresponds to what others have given me. Seems there is a .750" barrel, and a .730" barrel on the various 5/8th-24 threaded guns.
These are a great idea! Little pricey, though. I'd buy the set for just under $100, but I can't justify $145 for the set, shipped. Good on you for innovation, though! Send a PM if you have a sale or discount code that can drive this down a bit.
I haven't tried it with any G3's yet. Probably fine? Although I personally wouldn't put a 30 round mag on this rifle as it would spoil the quick handling.
I have the gen 3 pmags for 300 BLK and they feed great, only complaint is the magwell is so small they wobble a bit, especially when full. Works just fine but I wouldn't wanna run around with it, I'd be scared to trip. I prefer the old style 20 rounders, they look the best and have a good weight to capacity ratio in my opinion.
The stock on the Ruger American is...crap. I replaced almost all of mine with a wooden Boyd's stock and had an immediate increase in the precision of the gun--my 6.5-Grendel went from shooting ~2.5MOA to ~1MOA. I'd much prefer if Ruger offered a barreled action in the American series, since I'm going to replace the factory stock almost as soon as I get the gun.
@@NoDakSpud Hey Mike! You're so right, we make the Indian Creek Design MoFo Chassis for RA's and all of my R&D rifles are easy 1/2 moa shooters. How's that Thunder Cat of yours shooting these days?
@@johngalt7733 Excellent ! I have several of them now and it's my favorite type of marker. Play a lot of pump also, but an ICD Cat always comes to the field. Jay from IRG told me he's selling a bunch of those chassis systems, good for you guys.
@@FrostRocket92 They should work fine. The key is to get a good measurement on the muzzle of your barrel. I checked a 6.5 CM and it was 675"-.690" tapered. But yours may be different.
No, they are not designed to fit that. You might be able to have the front sight base mounted on your barrel, but you would have to come up with a custom rear sight that matches the height above bore.
You would have to use very high rings for the eyepiece and power ring to clear the rear sight. Something such as the Weaver see-through rings would also allow you to use the iron sights. They are primarily designed for red dots.
@jarid kerwin One of our customers sent me a picture of his rifle with high see-through rings and a Leupold 1.5-4x scope. Looked like a versatile setup.
