i saw where some people were having the same problem with the predator in 223. none of them figured out where the problem was. since i plan to buy a predator in 223, i am glad i found this video. what you did makes perfect since. if i have that problem when i get one, i know right where to start.
Thanks for the insight. My Go Wild 6.5 creedmor locked up on the very first shot and I had to muscle the bolt open again. Oiled the bolt and it seemed to move smoother but locked again on about the 5th shot the next week. I just now took off the bolt sleeve / shroud and wiped it down with oil - seems to be moving nicely but I'll find out this weekend at the range
i got a gowild rimfire and i suspect the tightness is from the cerakoting especially inside the receiver i noticed a couple of wearing channels that formed from the cerakoting wearing off during operation. I just oiled and worked the heck out of the bolt for a couple days now she's smooth as butter
@@JamieTatum-th5wl a lot of people have the same issue. My best guess is that the coating tightened up everything. Even a small amount makes a huge difference
Im having the issue of the bolt hanging up with my Go Wild, but its only when theres a round chambered it will go up and down just fine, but when i try to bring the bolt back it sticks and i really have to pull on it. Otherwise the bolt is smooth as can be. I checked my cam stuff like you stated in the video and its all lubed and good from last time i cleaned it. It only sticks attempting to bring the bolt back with a round chambered, whether its spent or not.
@Ringer15 that is strange I have run the same stuff same rifle minus the chasis. Yeah it might just have something in the bore or chamber. Also check your brass for signs of pressure. If it keeps doing it, I would record it and call a local gunsmith or even Ruger to check that out.
Ive had mine for about 2 weeks now and it has probably 100 rounds through it and its still just as rough as day one and I'm this close to taking it back
@@scruffyarms I wish I would have bought the gen 2 but it was on backorder and sportsman's wearhouse didn't know when it would be available so I gave in and bought this one. I just bought a bunch of upgrades for it and I'm going to machine a few things that I'm hoping will help but mine is really really bad, I've only been able to cycle it maybe 25 times without an issue.
Dude, same. Go wild, .243.... Ridiculous amount of effort to close on a round and open. Kind of turned me off from Ruger now. I'll check under the shroud but being brand new, this is unacceptable in any firearm. Shame on you Ruger. Do better. How did it handle with a round in and out of it after you cleaned?
@@scruffyarms my oryx I have a Ruger American Ranch in 300 Blackout but its my thermal setup so it has a AGM Adder on it my Sharps is my Ruger American Ranch in 450 Bushmaster it has a regular 3x9x40 scope. My Oryx is way heavier has to be the scope I guess.
