Ruger Precision Rimfire Extended Mag Release 

I just had my new Whale Tail extended mag release installed today. After watching the video step by step my buddy and I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work after putting the mechanism into the first slot. Long story short, after a while we then realized at the beginning of the video Cody said it's a 22 LR. Well, mine is a 17 HMR. So the difference was that the mechanism goes into the second slot. After putting it back together the mag wouldn't come out. After a few tries and extra muscle on the release lever the mag came out. But it's working fine now without the extra muscle on the release lever. Next is to take it out and try it. Also I should've read the post by Jeffery below first, lol. Thanks for the video.

Have you ever thought of making match barrels for RPR. Barrel manufacturers are a bit limited on choice and, of course, expense, just a thought. I have bought several items for mine, and the extended mag release will be next 👍 keep up the great and innovative work.......

Great video. Mentioning the selector has to be on “safe” would have saved me a few dollars from the swear jar though.

Awesome piece of kit. It would of been interesting to the viewers to actually try out a 25,15 and 10 magazine, if that would of been possible.

For the 22 magnum the mag release mechanism fits in the rear slot closest to the trigger guard. This demo is for 22 long. Other than that procedure is the same.

Sweet! I just ordered the new bolt handle and titanium dragon scale short for my rpr. May have to try that mag release and bolt shroud out next.

It should be noted that the Anarchy whale tail magazine release will NOT work with a KIDD magazine latch plunger. Took me a hour to find this out. Whale tail works great with Ruger's plunger.

I installed like the video says. I have a .22lr mag is stuck, I have pulled it apart and reinstalled 5 times, is it possible i got a defective tail?

Where do I get the heat treated firing pin?

can the "RPR Rimfire" use two 10shot mage adapters or epoxy two 10hots together to work ?

The ruger mags just suck to get out mine always stick even with the whale tail installed

The Torque of the action to chassis is IMPORTANT YOU CAN destroy your gun if you over torque past 28inch lbs. This video literally says it doesnt matter witch couldent be further from Fact. Call Ruger. Dont listen to this guy. He doesnt even shoot competitively
