Ispowz17751975 All the talking I did and I completely ditched the skeletonized trigger with a 4 lb clean break. Accuracy is very surprising. Especially for a strictly production pistol.

Haus of Guns I'd really like to see some checkering on the front strap as well. It should be available as an option. Machine checkering would keep the costs down considerably.

punkvader77 most 1911s will have the same profile unless the model they specify comes with a rail. But I would email the company to verify. I am the exact same boat when looking at the stealth gear website.

Mine hates 8rnd and i had to send it back to ruger to have the slide replaced. Gun still rattles and won't function with 8rnd mags.

+losunimo88 It's pretty snappy with full 230's. I'd like to think I've got the grip figured out, but it was a hand full for sure.

Ruger does have a firing pin safety, it's just not attached to the trigger mechanism, it's in the grip safety assembly, so it's a series 70 trigger with a firing pin block

+Nickolas927  You're wrong.The Series 80 has a little plunger in the slide that physically blocks the firing pin from moving forward, but a series of levers activated by the trigger pushes the plunger out of the way. Some shooters believe you can’t get a good trigger pull with a Series 80 design because of all that extra business going on via the trigger.There are work-arounds to that trigger pull/firing pin block problem. One is to change the levers so that instead of working off of the trigger pull, they work off of depressing the grip safety. Another is the one Ruger takes on the CMD, and that’s to not have the block at all and instead use a titanium firing pin and an extra heavy firing pin return spring to help hold the firing pin back.As strong as titanium is, it’s very light. By itself, the firing pin probably lacks the mass to set off a primer if dropped, and the extra-heavy return spring holding it is added insurance. There’s a thing called the “Drop Test” described in ANSI/SAAMI Z299.5-1996 “Abusive Mishandling” standards that gun makers use to check gun designs to see if they’ll go off when dropped. Tracy3006 Hm, my 5" Ruger 1911 has a firing pin block, I assumed they would be the same since only the slide and barrel are shortened, not the grip...

Tracy3006 I bought mine from a gunsmith so maybe he put it in there cause he didn't trust the way stock rugers come, or He bought a cheap 1911 from overseas and marked it as a ruger... which would suck for me :-/

jeremy beverly I heard that but doubt any of us could live long enough to ruin it.. plus Ruger is pretty good on customer service and replacing broken parts ... the titanium feed ramp is the big reason it will last and handle hallow points

Nah, I have one of these, that thing is super super tough. Even if something were to happen, Ruger has notoriously good customer service.
