Dumb question of the day: Since .22s don’t produce enough impact on your distant targets for viewers to hear the hit, would it be possible to place a microphone in close proximity to them? It would be great to hear the impact and add to the enjoyment.
At first glance,I say to myself " Can I replace that front sight". I see the archery type Tru-Glo inserts on pistols everywhere and I simply cringe. Those inserts constantly fall out or break. Iron sights are supposed to be iron.
I’m 62 when I was a kid I bought a used but like new Ruger single six from a fellow that owned the local gas station for 70.00 with 2 boxes of shells and a Hunter leather holster. Now I own several single action Rugers and love them all.
I've owned a blued single six for about 25 years and I love it. I've gotten quite good at reloading relatively quickly over the years. I don't shoot it as much as I used to since I bought a Mk4.
I have a blued single six convertible with a 6 1/2 barrel. Absolutely love it, bought it brand new about 15 years ago. Crazy accurate with 22 mag, 22 lr and even the shorts.
I love my two Single-Six New Models. When looking for a new DA 22 revolver about two years ago, I read about many problems just about every manufacturer was having with their 22 revolvers. I wound up with VG condition Hi Standard Sentinel Deluxe.
I agree with you. My Grandpa had a Colt Buntline Scout 9.5 inch barrel from I think 1953 or 1956 that was his Dad's that he used to teach me how to shoot. We didn't shoot it that much because of how old the gun was. So I got online and found that Ruger made the Single Six with a 9.5 inch barrel. It looks just like the Colt, only with better sights. We then went to our local gun dealer and ordered one. It is an amazing firearm and is what started my love for Ruger and shooting.
