SilencerCo Hybrid offers a wider range of host firearms use and calibers, but crazy big and heavy for pistol use. Doable, but not preferable. Target to target acquisition is horrible with heavy muzzle over swing compared to smaller lighter weight suppressors within the same performance levels. As for the vary rare person only owning one suppressor go with Hybrid Suppressor! ***Key note: "vary rare for a suppressor owner only owning one suppressor...?" I've met first time suppressor buyers starting out with one suppressor, but never met a person only owning one-do-it-all suppressor for a lifetime. Rugged Obsidian 45 will cover majority of pistol calibers 22cal to 45acp and 300 Blackout, but extremely favorable for pistol platforms compared to the heavy Hybrid. For pistol home defense and target to target acquisition Obsidian Modular 45K shorter and lighter version gives a tremendous advantage over the Hybrid. Personally I would go with Rugged Obsidian 45 for pistols use and have the latest pistol suppressor technology advantages. Preferring rifle caliber design suppressor for my high pressure center fire rifle caliber host firearms. Basic principle of whenever you gain in one area you lose in another area...! So the one-do-it-all idea has limitations.

Get two of each. But only get pistons form Rugged. They don't have those annoying ridges running down them letting a little more gas out. And get the Obsidian 45 as it works on nine as well. Not to mention the best millimeter, 10 mm.

For pistols, you would use the piston with the spring. For anything with a fixed barrel, it would be either the direct thread mount, a 3 lug setup, or the piston with the fixed barrel spacer.

Late response, but yes. It will be supersonic. I ran mine with 147gr today and it was amazingly quiet.

If you had an endcap strike that fast, something defiantly wasn't right. As far as fixing it, I suspect it was replaced with new parts. I've never seen a company do repairs with used components.

Doctor Cropse I just bought the Obsidian 45 to go on an mp5, the make a 9mm Obsidian but I’d rather have the ability to use on .45 and 300 Black. It really is a nice can, I have 2 Huntertown Arms cans and these are just made better-plus the company is not out of business like Huntertown.

Look into CGS Group as well....MOD9 and MOD9SK

Jim Campeau you can use 300 blk subsonic in obsidian 9. If you don’t intend to shoot.45acp, no question get a 9mm

Nope. Everything is proprietary with cans AFAIK. I'll try my .22lr with this can if you respond and are interested.
