I used to take the Orange line into JP where I was interning as a drama therapist in grad school. One night I took the line from Ruggles to Lechmere to North Station. At Ruggles, a group of youths were jumping over the turnstile to avoid paying the fee. I laughed. They glared. I gulped. No further incident. No more using Ruggles Station either.
