Stardust Crusaders But Really Really Fast is, at time of writing, by far the most popular video on my RU-vid channel, and one I am very proud of. In this 3 hour nightmare monster of a video, I'd like to go as IN DEPTH as possible on my writing/sound/art/animation decisions!
That's right, just like the ones I'd made for Parts 1 and 2 the past couple of years, this is a Behind the Scenes video on JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Stardust Crusaders But Really Really Fast! This was supposed to be a March 12th release (My Birthday), but a little over a week late will have to do!
...Please forgive me for the "Behind the Scenes video rebrand", I've been very self-conscious about how extremely wordy some of my video titles are and I wanted to attempt to experiment with something a little catchier! I mean it's not like it's an inaccurate title at all, the perfect way to ruin a video is to overexplain every single minute joke in it 😛

For me the “Dio dio dio dio dio” joke still worked despite watching this video years later without the first one fresh in my mind. I think if you’re a fan of the series, you understand why the narrator freaks out about dio being alive, so it’s still funny

As you said the scalpel thing is offscreen and thus didn’t happen. However, stands can be made semi tangible to block attacks and stands that inhabit physical objects can have the object damage, for example, surface getting its hand destroyed by a bottle. Also Notorius BIG is repeatedly damaged by physical objects and breaks so many Stand rules cause it’s a post Mortem second ability. The same is true to a lesser extent with chariot Requiem.

Just saying there was a missed opportunity at 1:12:50 when Hol Horse enters and says "i have returmed" being followed up by Avdol walking in and saying the exact same line, with the same reaction from Enya, poking fun at the fact that Avdol returns during the Justice fight in the OVA (which was single handedly the second best thing to ever come from the sdc ova)

There’s a compelling case that the virus on the beetle arrow is slightly different than the virus on the other arrows. That’s how viruses work after all. This would explain why the arrows respond to extreme resolve differently and help people reach their full potential in a different manner. With the normal arrow that’s Bites the Dust and with the beetle arrow that’s requiem. It’s very possible that if Giorno had lost the Black Sabbath fight he wouldn’t have died and would’ve instead developed an enhanced ability in Bites the Dust fashion.

I see the point people are making with the "accidental sexism" thing with Holly. But in my opinion i think it's totally fine. The story didn't say she can't fight or develop her stand because she's a woman. Just because unlike everyone else in the shoe. Holly is a peaceful normal person that was forced to awaken a strong stand to fight Dio.

Can I just say the Spiderbat model is just... SOOOOOOO amazing? I'm serious. It's so fluffy-looking yet stil arachnid-like. Most I'd say is that there's more spider than bat with really just the bat head and fluff but mostly spider body, but still, IT'S SO GOOD AND WEIRDLY CUTE.

2:00:00 Okay I gotta say, it might not be your original joke. But I actually think you have the best interpretation of this joke I've ever seen. Dio's sheer panic and flailing around as though he's in an extreme rush to meet his, currently small, Za Warudo time limit is absolutely perfect. Followed by the "I'm very intimidating" and just showing this harsh contrast against what he had to do vs the image he's trying to project is absolutely perfect.

I'm glad that this finally confirmed that Polnareff's "THE ENEMY" is a direct reference to Brave Lyn from Fire Emblem Heroes. I also found that voice line very memorable (if only because I had the space saving version of the game where almost every voice line sounds like it went through a walkie talkie but "THE ENEMY" was one of the few that remained full quality) and I was like 99% sure that it was referencing that but I had a 1% doubt that I was just missing some other joke that was flying over my head.

Regarding Holly's stand: Due to the Joestar Curse, she was given a very powerful stand so she could fight Dio. However, she is not a fighter and wouldn't be interested in fighting either. With her personality going against such a powerful stand, it becomes more of a cursed stand than a helpful one, similar to other "curse" stands like Cheap Trick or Milagro Man.

I always thought it was pretty clear that Holly just didn't have the fighting spirit required to properly control a Stand. She's a peaceful person who doesn't want to hurt anyone, but she has stand potential. Its possible she could naturally develop a non combat Stand similar to Antonio's given enough time and a strong enough drive to perfect something but that never comes up.

@@Evnyofdeath The whole point of Part 3 is that her stand just wasn't compatible. The Joestar curse basically made it so that her Stand would be very powerful in order to fight DIO's evil. She is very passive, so she is in conflict with her Stand. That means that her body and soul are at odds, which made it so she would slowly die as long as the curse was active. She absolutely has the potential, but her Stand is likely naturally strong. She doesn't have the drive so it will never awaken fully. She probably isn't even able to fully see Stands.

I always thought of it that way. I never thought it was sexist, I was like "She's a gentle person, she would never fight anyone, so the stand is sucking up all her energy because it has no fighting spirit to draw from." I could kind of see it as almost a bit of a compliment.

Given that Araki writes decent female characters everywhere else I thought it was quite clear that this refers to Holly rather than "all women". Lisa Lisa was introduced earlier and was rather badass, and would have gotten a chance to show that off even more if Column Fellow number 3 wasn't such a cheating wenis.

27:23 If you look at shadow DIO's scenes, he doesn't intuit time stop. He has one of his servants shoot at him with a shotgun, but The World stops time to pluck the rounds out of the air. It's *very* possible that you discover your Stand's abilities through trial and error.

I'd just like to say, I think the "Dio breaking the camera" joke still works, even with the incorrect lore, since in the really really fast videos with Dio he has been nothing but angry, especially this one, so I like to think of it as him just forgetting to hold back because he's just always angry.
