Atalanta's VA is so convincing omg. You actually feel the anger and despair she's going trough. When Achilles enterfierd between them fighting, Atalanta's "kiero" is the most sincere i've ever heard

Achilles is the GOAT. Dude lost practically all of his Noble Phantasms and was on his last legs (no pun intended) by this point, yet still managed to score a mutual kill against Atalanta.
Dude. Achilles is a monster. They show him and Chiron as more or less on par but...based on feats he looked far and away like the strongest servant. He basically nullified full power Karna with only ONE of his borrowed phantasms and Karna was probably second best servant after him
Little bit late, but the only reason they were on par was due to Achilles himself forcing that sort of ground. He intentionally made it so that, while no one else could interfere in their battle, they would be even in all but skill.
@@athirstyguy nope in an all out war of Noble phantasms Chiron is 70-30 against Achilles while in cqc the chances are reversed. Similarly without Ea and VS in the picture Karna > Gil but with the nps Gil > Karna.

LB Chiron in Atlantis had the same NP plus squads of reinforcements, nanomachines buffing him, and thousands' years more frontline combat experience, and it still took him 4+ uses of his NP just to finally stop Achilles, who had already lost or forfeit all of his own NPs. They show us again and again every time he's on-screen that even on his back foot against his worst matchups, Achilles is more than fast and skilled enough to face impossible odds. And that only reflects well back on Chiron: Achilles' skill is his teacher's greatest pride.
@@cob-codeofbrawl7668 personally, i absolutely love the animation done on this. the dynamic perspectives are done incredibly and everything feels fluid. its really only missing the trademark UFOtable special effects, but thats because this wasn't done by UFOtable. I actually prefer animation with less special effects
This was my favorite conflict in Apocrypha. It made me feel for Atalanta, and all it took to understand the character was one little flash back that lasted for a few seconds. One thing that it is not said about Fate series as a whole, is their ability to present character motivations and pit them against each other.
The conflict was so good that it all started with two hypocrites, one was what started Jack's death and Reality Marble and instead of showing any regret or motivation, she preferred to blame the rest for what she herself started and the other that she could save to Jack using the Reijis so that he would not kill again but she would prefer to go the easy way eliminating a girl who killed criminals without feeling any empathy aaa but show him the cardboard head with legs so that he suffers but with everything he saw in the Reality Jack's Marble doesn't care about Jack at all... Super good "conflict" or more a fight between two idiots?

the sound design and the animation just wow. Even though it's not reaching ufotable graphic, it have the same quality. Every fight just keep showing how strong servants is. The way Jeanne roll after the fall and Achilles shockwave

As someone who watched Apocrypha and plays fate GO. Achilles is a rider, Atalante is an Archer and Jeanne d'Arc is a ruler. Achilles and Atalante are both servants of red while ruler is neutral.
Atalante was originally an Archer, but here she has forced Spirit Origin metamorphosis on herself with the hide of the Calydonian Boar, and is now Atalante Alter, a Berserker.
@@William65536 Not exactly, Atalanta alter is a berserker class servant who is summoned with the boar pelt active by default, Atalanta as an archer can use the boar pelt to boost her parameters besides luck by a rank in exchange for the berserkers classes trademark Madness Enhancement. They are two different servants with different stat spreads and skills ranks, it’s just that alter in FGO exists to show off Atalanta’s boar hide form, and thus is essentially the same thing in all but specifics.
Archilles manage to defeat Chiron, gave up one of his strongest Noble Phantasms to save Sieg and still had enough strength to fight Atlante Alter to a draw? If that doesn't say how ridiculously overpowered Archilles is, nothing will.

itsuki tsuchigami and masami mori did such a breathtaking job ;w; the background animation, camera work, debris and effects work, i also loved how the character art became more loose allowing for more expressive movement and character acting which made this fight really stand out
This animation, and the flow of battle, is superb. It's so superb that I can hardly keep up with it until watching it numerous times, even slowing it down to half speed. Excellent!
Teared up watching Atalanta desperately fighting for her simple but pure dream. But, that desperation corrupted her and she had to be put down which made me feel for her. This battle was so underrated.

Seems like no one here is talking about the pure hate and pain that Atalanta puts into the activation of every one of her abilities. That VA needs a damn raise. You can feel the soul of the character every time she attacks.

Achilles is so fucking cracked that it's unreal. Mans used basically all of his NPs and had already been struck in his weak point, the Achilles Heel. Yet he still managed to basically solo a Beserk Atalanta and get the mutual kill. Wild
Lancer of Black is Vlad III and Archer of Black is Chiron and neither of them are present in this fight, so your title is totally wrong. Here you have Archer of Red (Atalanta) fighting Ruler and Rider of Red (Achilles).
@@jackblitzjorndesblixt Atalanta Alter is a berserker in Fate/GO, but in the Apocrypha anime I don't think they ever classify her as anything other than an archer (even her alter form). If you're talking about FGO though, then yes, Atalanta Alter is a berserker and Atalanta is an archer. Granted, Vlad III is also a berserker in the game but a lancer in the anime (and in the in-game Apocrypha event, weirdly enough). EDIT: Also judging from the classifications you gave for Jeanne and Achilles I'm assuming you're either trolling or just... wrong lol.
My biggest issue with Fate as in a whole is the fight scenes should be a hundred times longer! The animation, sound and voice acting is on point. One of my favorites by far
It's hard to call this sakuga... It got stylized to hell during the more dynamic scenes and kinda switched back and forth between two different artstyles. Although admittedly it's nicely choreographed and way better than Sieg vs Shirou.
The stylized artstyle was made so that the action scenes in this anime could have such movement. The animators and studio making this had like any other anime studio's time to make the anime but, they struggled because this was a fighting anime and had to make compromises. They did an amazing job, to the best of their ability, despite the cut content and lack of time for the animations. You could actually see the original animation that the studio planned for in the 1st Siegfried vs Karna fight but they realized they didn't received enough time so they were forced to compromise.
Lmao, yea you definitely can animate better. Everyone agreed this scene have best choreograph fights, sound design, and also artstyle that fit the movements.

It’s weird but because of Fate I have become an avid enjoyer of all Greek myths including there misconceptions. And it’s cool to think of the mythos as an extended Cinematic Universe because of the family dynamics and generations of heros. And fate just made them look cool I mean

Damn the VA for Atlanta makes me wish Atlanta gets another showing at some point. And props to her too for doing so well in these fights considering Atlanta is probably one of if not the weakest of the servants in this particular war. Ofc she ain’t weak but the other servants are monstrous in comparison especially Achilles, Karna, and the underrated but still pompous Semiramis who’s Fortress is insanely powerful if she used it seriously against a single servant. I think with good enough tactics Semi probably coulda handled everyone except Karna unless she has a trick up her sleeve idk about (she can probably hurt him though given all her attacks in the fortress are EX and her poison can probably affect him)

Achilles isn't the lancer of black he is the rider of red, the lancers were Vlad for the black and Karna for the red. Atlante is the archer of the red.
Not necessarily since the story is garbage and it's a matter of seeing the absurd context of this fight to realize how stupid it is in the first place. The reviews of ufotable are from those who only like to see well-animated things who don't even make an effort to try to understand the story XD

Holy shit, I ain't the only one who's given that a thought? Fate would fit well as most game types. Brawler based fighter, team based shooter, action-adventure, etc. Sadly they don't take advantage of that potential, so the best we got is two musou type games in the form of the Extella series, which is evidently a terrible genre as nobody plays them. But yeah, anyway. An Overwatch/Paladins type Fate game would work surprisingly well. You wouldn't think so at first, but indeed it would.
Riders aren't always those who fights with their mounts. Sometimes they're those who are fast as f*ck. An example is Achilles who's a Rider for being the fastest Heroic Spirit even without his mount. And Ushiwakamaru who literally don't have a mount
I still don't get why Atalanta hating Jeanne so much because of Jack, when the one who cause Jack's suffering is Atalanta herself. She's being somewhat unreasonable.
I understand why atalanta went nuts, but I have little sympathy for her. Because ultimately the reason she went beserk was because she was already unhinged. One of my least favourite characters in this. On the other hand hard not to love Jeanne. Pity she's not that great in fgo.

I’m bout to have an autistic overtly deep unwarranted escapade about symbolism he warned. I don’t know if it’s intentional I’m guessing it is regarding how important ideals are to the fate franchise. Archer obviously has this grand ideal to save every child which is obviously with good intent but simply impossible and it drives her mad to a point where she’s essentially become this monster that any child would become terrified of. She has this sympathy for children but then wishes to rip her enemy apart with incredible violence due to them being in opposition for a grand cause as well. It’s just incredibly ironic considering the opposition of her ideals compared to her appearance and actions. Probably nowhere near as deep as I think it is (I don’t think it’s really that deep to begin with just some symbolism really) but just wanted to share.
@@animaniac0041 Nah, it’s pretty underrated in the wider western anime community. It’s pretty evident by how Demon Slayer gets more praise from its animation when Ufotable’s Fate has way better animation
