I like how manon wanted to start with homestuck, but after episode one, completely forgot, and Cybermare is trying her hardest not to remind him.

A sidenote, but I love how cozy their room is, and how they fall asleep with the screenglow on. It makes this entire series feel like they're spending a sleepover together or are in some kind of rec room. It's very endearing.

There is a little confusion in the Pool’s closed meme. 4chan didn’t start raiding habbo because it was racist, they started raiding the game because getting banned with the black Afro avatar could be an excuse to calling Habbo racist. By the sources it just seems like b doing random provocations for the sake of random provocations. According to “teh meme wiki” after the afros B would also raid spamming skinheads, gingers, and communists (avatars with white beards and red shirts). The Stingrays meme variation came after Steve Irwin (aka ‘the crocodile hunter’) died from a stingray sting, and the irl block cosplay with the swastika came after Habbo executives were accused of pedophilia. I don’t know how many of the raiders were really nazis, I don’t know how many of them were ironically provoking by forming swastikas while wearing suits and Afro wigs. Either way, personally I’m kinda glad trolling is less popular irl at time of writing and that society in general is less patient with swastikas

Oh my gosh, I loved the series!!! Why have I postponed watching this video for so long?! This is one of the best videos I ever seen! It's so fun and endearing and it gives me a heartwarm seeing these early internet things hasn't being forgotten. The Loveweb site is also amazing and it has such a vibe! There is also another pretty popular rule of the internet that has stuck around to this day. Rule 63: for every given male character, there is a female version of that character and vice versa. (Also known by it's shorter variation: if it exists, there is a genderbent/genderswapped version of it) Genderbending/genderswapping, before becoming an internet staple, had quite political origins as a queer stance against the gender binary by being both subversive & a mix of typical gender-restricted fashion and traits (also known as genderfucking) The modern term of genderbending/genderswapping (more commonly known as gender flipping at the time) was popularized in video games by the finishing move of Darkstalkers character Demitri Maximoff, who drains the life of helpless maidens exclusively. Do to the cast of Darkstalkers not having many characters who are either helpless or even maidens, he tosses a rose which not only causes the women to become helpless, but causes the men to become helpless maidens. These female interps became popular and resulted in many fan content, which in turn prompted more genderswapped art of males and even females! It is often credited to being the spark of the modern genderbent/genderswap. Rule 63 was created as an addition to 4chan's "Rules of the Internet" a year after the list was created, this lists two aforementioned statements: for every given male character, there is a female version of that character and for every given female character, there is a male version of that character. This rule became so well-known that it got into pop culture and even recognized by Hollywood! Because of it's sheer popularity, it is considered widely to be one of the set in stone rules of the internet along with rule 34! And no, it is not hurtful or bad despite what some circles would like you to believe. It only becomes bad if you use it to turn a trans character cis or you use it to force a queer couple into a straight relationship. It also doesn't it mean that you should strictly bend with only the two binary genders, you can genderbent and make characters enby or intersex if you so please! Remember, the rules of the internet shouldn't be taken seriously and genderbending/genderswapping should be used and treated as a means to have fun!

i just found this by chance, but as soon as i saw the ponytown footage over blushades talking i impulsively went "WAIT, IS THIS CHANNEL WHY I ALWAYS SEE THAT GROUP THERE EVERY TIME I LOG ON???" i don't know how true it is but they always stood out to me omg love the silly little tidbits, aesthetic, and simple animation by the way!! this was a fun watch :D

I feel like too many people take the rule 34 as if it's something that people are supposed to follow, and then they complain about it, despite it obviously being a rule in the sense that it will happen, not must happen.

This series is pretty awesome for an educational one, with the cute animation, realistic tts voice acting and manon wanting to make a homestuck video also for an idea if you need any, they could talk about object shows, i think it would be interesting

Imo you didn't get all of them right, for example a couple rules you brushed off as jokes or references also have cultural meaning. questioning someones gender or asking for pics is about protecting yourself/ bering less naive through a healthy amount of distrust. An Ethos lived by others and learned by lurking The copypasta line isn't only about copypasta its also about bandwagoning Op and oc, Think of nyan cat it was pretty original. Then we Got smooth Jazz nyan cat, 8 bit nyan cat, 1 hour nyan cat, etc reposts and references ruined the originality

Rule 30 is often sorely misunderstood. I forgot the most apt explanation I've ever seen unfortunately, but it was something along the lines of how, when in an anonymous space presenting your ideas, it doesn't matter who or what you are. What matters there in the discussion are your ideas and the things you post. There is nothing about being female that changes that, and how there was never an equivalent for men to begin with. The internet started out as a man thing, or nerdy/basement dweller thing and so on the early internet, the presumption was always that everyone was a man. Then the females came along and some would post, for no reason, that they're female, in situations where really that didn't matter or add to the conversation (just like how being a man was irrelevant). There is no difference between "I'm against X because of Y" and "I'm against X because of Y and I'm a (man/woman)" other than the prior being more succinct and relevant. At least, that's what I think the argument for rule 30 was. It was something in this line of thought anyway. I think it's a good rule. It wasn't so much a top-down rule as it was a bottom-up observation.
