It is. Everything in the frontend is new. I ordered all through The Rod Shop in Calgary. They ordered it from a company in the State's, but i can't recall the name of that company. If you like i can find out and let you know, then you just deal direct with them.
If you prefer them in original state, go buy one (I've owned a few).... Life is about fun and doing what you enjoy, not whining about everyone else's fun.
Nice truck! Once I start building on my rat (I might go traditional 1950's) I thought of getting keg, and empty the contents via drinking, and then keep the keg as a fuel tank. Anyhow, what does it run on the 1/4 mile if you don't mind my asking?
Surface rust! Sandblasting will clean that up for you. If that's not an option, then a hand grinder with a few 80 grit sanding discs will work as well. Body rust if it's not just on the surface but down into the metal then you may need to cut it out and replace it with some new, or it may come back to haunt ya!
ya know the sad part, is not the world running out of old car's and truck's, it,s that there will always be plenty of people to judge you and your motives and label you stupid. People who don't know you, never met you, or have even talk to you! They just like to shoot thier mouth off, about shit they know nothing about! I guess! I don't take other people's stuff and build what they wont, I take what i got and build what i see! Something many don't understand!!
Dude its a pretty nice nice rat rod but that 47 chevy was just beautiful as is and it had a dump bed, I would kill for a truck like that you really should have rat rodded something that couldnt be saved for complete restoration
Beautiful truck, but I would have fixed those dents on the back of the cab. Just seems kinda silly to do all that work on the cab just to not at least fill in the dents with some lead or whatnot.
+John Doe Those are not dents. Those are character dimples and i wouldn't think of removing them. The roof should have been cut into six pieces and lowered. I did it in five, just to save them.
Yah that thing was in pretty good shape to rat rod it but it is still bad ass! But i hated to see a truck in the shape it was chopped too. Dosnt mean its not a kick ass ride.
