"..it is always a true pleasure and honor to be able watch a true master at his craft! i thank you for your time and excellent tutorials on such beautiful cultural rhythms." ¡Gracias Maestro!
I greatly appreciate all of your amazing instructional videos. You break things down so that I actually understand what's going on. Thank you so much, and please, keep 'em coming.
Well, Roberto was always playing in Grupo Projecto with El negro (Hernandez on drums) and Rubalcaba on piano. Really heavy band. In this band Roberto needed to make translations of a lot of Cuban rhythms, so he could play the essence of these rhythms by himself. This was one of his translations of guaguanco (Matanzas style). It gave him the possibility to create a lot of freedom, which he used to accompany the solist.
Ha Rick, ik wist niet dat jij dit was. Natuurlijk weet ik het nog van vroeger! We hebben ook nog wat op bata gedaan, volgens mij! Ook met Wigbert. Leuk je hier te ontmoeten!
Hey Michael. Thanks for another great workshop. I have a question about this ritmo: As you probably know, rumba is a family of Cuban of rhythms. This one is different than any of the rumba rhythms that I know. Was it made up by your Roberto? Does it have a name? It doesn't seem that similar to Rumba Guaguanco (either Matanzas or Havana style)...
