The tale of a miller who tries to impress the King by boasting that his daughter can spin straw into gold. The King locks the maiden in a castle tower with a spinning wheel and a pile of straw and puts this claim to the test. When the tower door is unlocked, the straw has been spun into gold. Entranced by her beauty and skill, the King makes the miller's daughter his Queen. But the spinning is the work of an evil wizard who claims the Queen's first-born son in payment for his magic--unless she can guess his name within three days. Based on the
original story from the Brothers Grimm.
