In this video, we show you the removal and install procedure for run flat michelin pax tires for a 2006 honda odyssey touring. Tire machine is aritglio master 26.
Boy am I glad I never had to deal with these tires when I was in that line of work. Talk about a total pain the ass! Not to mention all the time it takes per tire. Four average tires could have been demounted, new ones installed, and balanced by the time one tire is mounted.
Shiet, I'd be exchanging 4 new tires with the balance on the other machine, BTW Michelin tires were always a pain, the bead would rip, it won't unseal, I hated working on these
That is such a nice Corghi tire changer... I wish I could afford one, but they are so expensive. Maybe if I ever opened up a tire shop business it might become feasible. I had never seen one of these ringed run flat tires before... and I thought regular run flat tires were already difficult enough... quite interesting!
Can some body please help me with a name of the special device use to remove and place back the reinforcement into the tyre " I saw the name "CORGHI " have been searching online not getting result, can you pls help with how I can buy one . Name and part number of the device or a Link to get one. Thanks
Can somebody please explain, he basically replaced a pax tire with just changing the tire correct? I have been to many tire shops and they all said the same thing that I have to replace it from the dealer. Supposedly nobody has that "machine" that works with pax tires. Second is it true when replacing the tire the rim gets replaced too? Help would be grateful.
the tire machine that he is using in the video is not your average tire machine..it has special rollers as you see in the video to dismount the tire..also the tool used to remove the plastic ring is special that no normal tire shop or dealer will have
I'm thinking of buying a beautiful 07 honda odyssey touring with pax wheels on it....bad move or no? I'm aware of the high replacement cost tires. But I would like to know are the PAX wheels still readily available in 2019? Can they be plugged if I ever get a flat? Any other tips or help from anyone would be greatly appreciated. thank you
Um, dude there is no such thing as a "beautiful" Honda Odyssey. What crack pipe are you smokin'? And after seeing this video about the stupid PAX wheels you are still considering it? Just how dumb can you be? Get a Subaru and call it a day.
PAX wheels are discontinued if you want to buy a Odyssey Touring with the PAX tires still on you would need new rims the next time you get tires as the rim size is also not a standard size it is around a 17.5 inch rim I believe.
I see comments here about the need to change the wheels if you want to switch from Run Flats to Regular tires. Well I guess it depends. My friend had her Benz towed to the nearest tire place and had both front Run Flats replaced with Regular tires on the same wheels. They didn’t stock Run Flats.
She was able to replace the runflats with standard tires, because they were normal common runflats, which use regular everyday wheels, unlike these stupid PAX system piles of junk.
I called Michelín directly they said they would give me a goodwill credit if I took these tires to a michelin store, or authorized dealer, they would pay for tires only thing I have to pay would be labor. I guess this tires is defective it will start bubbling on the sidewall and start cracking prematurely, and throw off your tpms monitors
@Random Restoration well .. its not flawless, because is way more expensive than regular tires. Wheels are even required to be suitable for this trash... No thank you !
I hate those PAX. The Stealers are still charging $1,800+ dollars to replace the tires. No one wants to sell you regular tires if you own a 2005-2006 Odyssey Touring. Worse yet I changed out my Pax and I get a lot of vibrations on the steering wheel. I put on 20x8 Acura MDX wheels with 245/45 R20 104 Load rating and they make the Touring 2005 odyssey vibrate at speeds above 60mph. I now forced to put back the PAX
Pax ,a waste of time and money as is Tryon. Run flat tires are sufficient for the most part! if your tires are underinflated you should know as a driver.
This is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. I've been a mechanic for the last 22 years and if you can't tell your tire is flat you shouldn't be driving
