As you know there is tree area that occupied an particular altitude beyond which there is no trees at all. So try to imagine that although this wing design for hike and fly but you need to land before upper border of that tree area which is not what everyone is want to achieve I suppose. Glide ratio is near to parachute. This concept is good for those with emergency situations cause there are just rare areas where you will enjoy its performance.
