British Biker now living in the U.S. Man I miss this so much. Used to get up to the IOM every year during the 90s. All the roads here default to double yellow lines equivelent to our double whites. Only a few spots where some guy figured it would be safe to overtake. Often it isn't.
Man you would make a great riding/safety training instructor. Your voice is so calm and reassuring. A pleasure to watch. With a better microphone and an image stabilizing camera I'm sure it would be even more enjoyable :)
