I've watched a number of YT vids on people modding their Runaway campers but most of them just really add LED strings around the corners like you did. You have a lot more to talk about, thanks for the share.

Thank you! You gave me some ideas. My Runaway will be ready in about 4 weeks. Thinking about a roof rack from Harbor Freight. It is cheaper but wonder if it fits the luggage rack!?

I have severral, especially in northern Nevada. But those take 6 plus hours to reach and not recommended during the winter. The top closest ones would be: Telephone Cove near Laughlin. It is right on the lake. Is free and less than 2 hours from Las Vegas. CON: Sometimes partiers play loud music. Ruining it for everyone. Can get crowded. Echo Canyon State Park near Pioche. Isolated. Near a lake/resevior and beautiful view. Just down the street from Spring Valley State Park, which also has camping near a reservoir or the more crowded Cathedral State Park. State also just built a new campsite located on the south side of the reservoir. They have showers and power. CONS. North campsite is older but more sheltered by tree. While the newer south side campsite is more exposed. Logandale Trails (near Logandale, NV). Crowded on weekends but not as much on weekdays. Beautiful views. You can camp down inside the valley among the rocks or at the trail head, which is near a bathroom, where you have better chance of getting cell phone reception.

Harbor Freight...I have a store just a few blocks from my house. It cost $19, when on sale. So wait till it goes on sale before buying.

Richard thanks for the information but your camera work is pretty bad. Thought I would get dizzy trying to watch a lot of parts. Try holding still and really review before posting. Hopefully experience will come around and get much better. Good remarks and Steve and the company, you can not go wrong with a runaway. Good luck!

Great info! Planning on buying the newer fiberglass version since towing with a 2009 Toyota Corolla (might get a transmission cooler too). A few questions... I'm thinking of getting the back door and/or a back door window. Do you like your back door? Do you use it for getting into the trailer or towing or ?? I know you don't have a back window but, in retrospect, do you wish you got one? Did you decide the pre-ordered cubbies just made things easier for you or do you wish you had made the storage area yourself? You are so handy I'm guessing it was easier. Very cool solar. Do you preordered the roof rack too? Do you need the room rack for your solar array? Is there anything you wished you had or hadn't ordered? Sorry for all the questions but I figure I should ask "an expert" Gratefully, Carolyn

Backdoor vs back window. I prefer back door. Easier to load and unload. Cubbies or no cubbies. I would have gone without. After seeing what other dids, I should have gone with clear boxes secured with bungee cords. Roof rack and solar. I got the roof rack on Amazon fot about $100. I could have mounted the solar directly on the roof on tilting bracket. Solar works best when facing the sun. Problem with panel mounted on roof is making permanent holes on the roof. Why roof rack. I wanted to keep some items outside vs inside when moving, i.e. outdoor mats, which tend to get wet or dirty.

I’m curious how well your solar panel charges you battery since you used tiny, non PV wire. What amperage do you get while in the sun?

I have no way to measure amps while charging. It takes about 3-4 hours to for my 100watt solar panel to charge my 300 watt , or 65-70 ah, solar battery, which was at 50 percent. If I charge my second 60ah solar battery via pig tail at the same time it does not seem to affect the time. I think the 18 gauge adapter from the solar panel can handle the current. The limiting factor are the controllers built into solar chargers. It should br noted that it takes about 5 hours to charge the battery via 110v outlet, so solar charging is slightly faster. I saw a youtuber who measured my and other 100 watt mono and poly panels and got around 75 watts out of the panels.

I wished I could have found something as such. That would make a difference. I looked at the A-liner, also a popup, but very expensive and was too wide. I also looked at some trailers that used hard side combined with cloth, basically a tent. mixed in with hard sides.Tent fabric does not handle weather good and can tear, leaving difficulty getting replacement fabric. Do you know of anyone that makes such a popup? The Aliner was basically the next choice.

I cannot find the link. Just got them at Home Depot. Just measure the windows, add a few inches and then they custom cut them in the store. I did get some small screws and mounts at the store to mount them.

There is SO MUCH good information here but it is buried by the camera work. You often say "And I plug this in here" but you don't aim your camera at where "here" is. Do you think you could possibly mount your camera to a tripod and do this again? Again, great information with no visuals because you are describing things and not showing what you are doing. I was glad I am not epileptic as I watched this because it might have caused a seizure. I am quite interested by your use of solar, but you don't actually show, and you use words like "plug it in here". What is the name of the device that is "here"?
