When I think of Elvis in the 60's I think of all the cheesy movies. But I've heard stories of him in Vegas (before he was performing there) just hanging out with Tom Jones, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, James Brown, Bill Medley. He'd go see concerts around the clubs. He listed to the Beatles and their contemporaries. Would of great to hear Elvis involved in more Rock n roll of the day
@Chris Monk He did invite the Beatles to his estate which was in LA at the time according to an interview I saw the rest of the Beatles revealed he only jammed with Lennon while the rest just hung around & you may have heard Elvis and Lennon had some very different views on the Vietnam war so the jam was meant to ease the tension . It would've been amazing to have had a full performance with them and the rest of the lads keep good music alive CHEERS mate!

@J S Yes exactly! Agree with you. He could have upped his vocals to full volume and changed the arrangement. I really like this version by Elvis. Only heard it for the 1st time this week. Been listening to it over and over. Sublime! 👍🎶
It’s actually not hard at all. It’s just falsetto, which Elvis could do easily. I think this was just a creative choice. He also didn’t use the Musitron for the solo.
