Also wanted to point out a couple things: Apparently ALL the Gowers brothers are working together on this game & the game will be using a brand new game engine that they've been making. Definitely signing up for the beta!

6:32 the response that the game is being designed so that bots don't ruin the game is important. Jagex was asked this question before and the devs said "that isn't our job".

I'm really excited for this game. It's been a long time since I got excited for a new game just from seeing a snippit of it. Last was probably God of War 2018.

I think it's funny, Andrew saying "very different" from runescape, if someone told me this is Runescape 4 I would believe them. Very excited to see the differences and how it will be, if I can test it in the beta.

I don't see anywhere where it's listed as an MMORPG, can someone help me with that? I've only seen RPG.

Kinda implies that although Runescape was lost, he looks forward to some brighter shores. Or its just my tacky brain thinking of it that way. Does feel heavily inspired by Runescape, which is obviously intentional. Seems like the direction of how things would be if he still owned the game. I look forward to trying this game when it comes out. I trust the Gowers to release something really good, seeing their reputation.

The game looks kinda old school in it's graphiv design which mskes sense considering it was made by andrew gower, but i was hoping for a more modern style of game

This is the way. Variety is the key to life and thats what the mmorpg genre has been lacking.

I don't want to talk down on the game before it's even out, but it does just look like Runescape: 2, not to be confused with Runescape 2.

What I enjoy about RS3 and specific MMOs are their complexity and depth. If this game doesn't offer engaging combat, it's dead to me.

RuneScape is a grid system too just not as obvious. Also this looks like rs3 graphics. Looks like a RuneScape remake

not a huge fan of the grid or how congested the map feels but it seems promising

I hope there's skybox options, because the black void in the background of most scenes makes the game's aesthetic seem drab right out of the box

There have plenty of "spritual successors" of "famous game designers" that flopped massively. People need to be realistic. The scale of this game will probably be 1% of what current RS is now initially.

Definitely will check this out. My main worry is the combat will not be engaging enough. Combat like in OSRS doesn't hold up imo, but RS3 is clunky.

This type of game is what you'd call in this era an idle game, it looks and implies with what he's said on twitter that you can essentially do different skills/activities but set your character to idle/afk the activity and it will run while you're gone. Nothing against these games really I'm enjoying one called Idleon which takes inspiration from runescapes systems.

This is awesome and I look forward to it but I hope they change the name xD The name is just so bad. Reminds me of the game "Radical Heights" and how bad that name was. Can't wait though.

Unfortunately, I am probably one of the few who doesn't like it too much but that's probably because it seems to be very mobile look type of game. I can see the vision of it being a Table Top Game like look but it doesn't seem to have that history component where there seems to be a lot more than meets the eye. It seems like a very generic game but he is one of the founders of RuneScape so his track record shows otherwise.

Could this game be the Runescape killer?

A lot of people are not fans of grid/tile based turn-based combat style games. Might get hype now but players would start complaining during Early Access.

The graphics look PS2-style at best and the gameplay looks really clunky and polished. I'm trying to stay open minded here, but had this not been Gower's game, no one would bat an eye at this.

i'm glad to see a man with his set of skills and vision not just leaving runescape and retiring but continuing to build other amazing games! this looks epic and i think i will pick this up, start off on free to play to test how i like it then if i think it's something i'll enjoy then 100% will get the premium membership! I wonder if the idle version of skilling will be similar to that of Melvor idle game, which i still play as well! Can't wait to check this out, i'll have to sign up for the beta/alpha testing thing, would be nice to pretty much have a new and improved version of a runescape-y game :) and since it's andrew gower it's GOING to be good XD after all HE's the one who MADE runescape what it is (and his brothers helped him too XD)

Rooms?! Not open world? It's habbo hotel with wood chopping :D .. Also Mr Gower states "it's not about money." Yet all the good stuff (majority of the game) locked behind a pay wall before it's even released because MR Gower knows Runescape players are going to want to try this game and most will pay before playing the game, making him a pretty penny regardless if the game is good and he continues to develop it.. by himself ? Using bots as an excuse for this is a good shout, considering it might not have any monetary value to begin and "it's built from the ground up to avoid bots" using this "room" method would seem to be an easy way to control bots without a paywall? If anything in the game does gain any monetary value then botters would get the premium pass just like they do with Runescape membership and the game would become unmanageable by a handful of people? Also this "room" concept is strange... Been in the making for over a decade? - Although the graphics of the NPC's look like they been directly ripped from RS3? A decade? I'm guessing there are thousands of these "rooms"? Remember he sold Runescape because he likes money and probably running out. I feel a money grab.

Disappointing. It’s 2024 should move away from I.S play style. Like they basically should have just made their own version of Newworld but better and distinctive what RuneScape was. And I am not convinced it took them 10 years to make this copy pasta of rs3

This game doesn't even look fun it looks like a worse knockoff version of Runescape which is sad honestly I don't think it'll gain traction the way RS did and that's a huge blow to RS players suffering at the hands of Jagex's RS3 failures over the last 10 years
