Runmas Day 6

Nick Bare's performance was impressive, especially with the weather being sub-optimal (temp was 54F at the start then 64F at the finish and the sun was out for quite a bit of time - I was 45 seconds off my course PR there probably bc it was 10 degrees warmer than what it usually is at CIM). Most of the faster road marathons are in the fall - if you want to wait until then: CIM (Northern CA, rolling hills, but net downhill), Indianapolis Monumental, Wineglass Marathon (upstate NY), Kiawah Island Marathon (SC). If you're willing to travel to the west coast, Mountains 2 Beach is ~700 feet net downhill, end of April (near Santa Barbara, CA). Any of the Tunnel marathons are good too in Washington state (first one is early June, it is a downhill course but really beautiful and on a gravel rail trail). I am a believer that throwing in some road marathon training can speed up your trail and ultra races.

Grandma’s marathon in Minnesota is in June and it’s net downhill, very fast course

I hear the San Antonio Marathon is pretty good. I might run that again next year. Still undecided.

Goal 2024: Entered Leadville lottery so we will see. Marathon suggestion: Rocket City 2024

Buffalo Marathon is relatively flat, good course, fun weekend. It's the end of May.

Two Cities marathon. Fresno Ca. Very flat. First weekend of November
