I don't know why I teared up watching them dance around the fire... Jeff, you've captured the essence of the run, the location, the people so beautifully. Thank you for putting in this amount of effort. I love your videos. More power to you!

I’m watching this and daydreaming at the same time. I started to run recently during the lockdown, I love it but my body is in shock. Everything hurts still … Will I ever be able to build up such distances?! I don’t know yet, but the emotions I feel when I see these inspiring people and the sceneries are very strong and I couldn’t be more grateful for the videos !
@JeffPelletier
@JeffPelletier 2 года назад
It will take time, but gradually you’ll continue to build your fitness and confidence. As Mabasa said in Episode 3, we build by laying a brick each day. The key is to take your time to avoid injury and enjoy the journey!
@XEinstein
@XEinstein 2 года назад
@@JeffPelletier I second that. Really take your time building up distance. Even for sportive people that aren't runners it will take weeks for muscles, bones and tendons to get used enough to running before doing a half hour / 5 km run. Your first 10km should take about 16 to 20 weeks before you endeavour on that distance. So take it slow and the distance will come.
@vitornoleto3699
@vitornoleto3699 2 года назад
Of course you can, but make sure your tendons, muscles, ligaments and joints are ok and strong (I highly recomended you do strength training too)... Because you will progress with the time, but if you try rush the things, you will get fatigue and do some injuries, wich forces you to regress or even stop running for a while, and this is worst than progress slowly.. Therefore, listen always your body, the pain and the fatigue, the "no pain, no gain" mindset can be destructive in the most of times...

Thanks Oliver! I also was hoping to give the viewer the same experience I had when racing, that there's a break in between each stage of the race, a bit of a reset. That anticipation is part of the fun in a race like this :)

I love this series, it reminds me that it isn't supernatural people who do these races. But (pretty) normal people. Enjoyed your interview with Mabass from Zim. He is truly inspirational. I get the feeling he surprised himself. Such a legend. I love how you encouraged him and asked if he was ok when you passed him. Such comaraderie. And how do you run with a camera like that? Cannot wait for Part 4.

I've done two adventure races in Namibia and this footage is so reminiscent of the many miles plodding through the desert and eventually trying to ignore the sand in my shoes & socks despite gators. Pea gravel in some parts feels as if you have no traction. Ironically, the solitude experienced in some of those desolate places is quite moving. Apart from your own breathing and footsteps, the silence there is deafening. Production quality is top notch. Looking forward to the rest of the episodes.
