It’s totally about him saying goodbye to his old self but it absolutely could be applied to many people and scenarios. However it is intended to be a goodbye to his old self!
He starts the album battling his inner demon. So i think he is talking to the dark site off his ego. That makes sense. He is saying goodbye. This is one off the best songs i have ever heard.
This song is speaking of himself/pride. People have different views of what they think it is and it can be but NF was talking about his pride and how he let it get the best of him because Ik and NF knows that now one else can hurt u no one else hold u back and the only person that can do that is yourself. I love this song cuz he speaks too pride like a it’s a relationship because that’s exactly what it feels like we battle back and forth with ourselves and we are own worst enemy. Hope that clears some of it up. Yes it can mean whatever depends on u but it’s pride/self. He’s finally learned too love himself forgive himself which helped him too forgive his mom and others.
In the beginning of the song he says "I'm tired Of holding on to you, it's time to let My pride Go and learn to love myself again, yeah" So he's talking about his pride that he has such conflict with... On one side its's protected, motivated, and brought him success, on the other hand it has been detrimental to his mental health and has happiness. "I've given enough of my life to you" For a long time he let his pride dictate his life possibly more than fear and anger I also think he's saying I wont let you drown the two of us, I think his talking about himself and hope
Whole album is amazing. This is my favourite tho & love how he opened with Hope & ended with Running, saying goodbye to his past self, being more hopeful in his journey ❣️ Can't wait to see him when he comes to Scotland in October 💙
For me, it is Nate telling his Pride, fear and hate go. The things that have always motivated him. Time to move on without those parts of himself and be a new person.
Loved this one!! He finished the album so solid. In hope he said he is done running and hope took the reins so him telling his older self I am done running was amazing
He says in the beginning... It's time to say goodbye to his pride. He's speaking to pride. Much like how he spoke to fear. But nicer because pride can also be viewed as a good thing. So it's harder to say goodbye
Definitely, all of the emotions can be positive or negative though, as he shows its how you deal with them that counts and he's clearly found some clarity in it all 🙏
This is a masterpiece and the fact that NF said this was 1 of his favorite tracks. His performance of this live was mind-blowing and had to crowd chilling. Nate is immensely talented yo... I think he might even be talking to REAL MUSIC itself. It's hard to digest and spew out and there has to be some end to it. 😢❤
Hope was the perfect song 🎶 to open the album with and Running is perfect way to end the album! Wonderful now what his next album will be when we get it, excited for a new journey! Awesome reaction!
Right with you Haz. NF is showing us the way out! The way this songs dovetails with Hope is amazing. We all have our own demons we are dealing with and this is a fuck you to all of this baggage.
Thanks for your awesome reaction video all the way from the great UK. This is a very special artist with a breathtaking and groundbreaking album. Albums like this come around once in a lifetime. It reaches in a grabs hold of your heart and soul. NF just raised the bar for all the other musicians out there, and he did it cleanly. He did it his way, and it's blowing up all over the world. God is working through him to save lives, and to bring people to a more spiritual level of existence. ABSOLUTELY MIND BLOWING. One of my favorite albums of all time.
Are you guys planning to go to his concert? He seems to be mostly sold out in Europe! I did go to his Concert in Nashville and it was a great concert for sure!
So, the album began with Hope, which was a battle between Hope and Fear...this is the end of the album where he's saying goodbye to Fear. He's been battling to keep Fear at bay through the whole discography. The last time he did shows here in Seattle was on the Perception tour, which I was at, and I've already got my tickets for his show here in August!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Thank you for this in-depth reaction guys - I appreciate you both 😊💖💯
