QoD: Can't quite remember my coldest run ever but this past week I ran in -43C/-45F thi just outside of Calgary Alberta, Canada. Proper laying and no exposed skin and you are good to go!

Seth: I know you have had some issues with frostbite recently. Me too. I have found that putting a little petroleum jelly over the most affected areas really helps along with whatever other layers you put on. It acts as a second skin or as a layer of blubber that protects the skin underneath. Happy running in the cold!

Thank you for showing so much of the process, getting the gear, getting the coffee, working out in the snow, the driving POV, the fabulous drone footage, the animals in the snow, and lots of running. I could watch an hour or more a day. But these ten minute videos are great. Then to get more running videos, I go back into your library. 👍💪☝️👊🤘❤️

Hey Seth, great Channel👍👌 I live in Norway and in the wintertime it is normally -10 to -35 Celsius, my coldest Run would be a 15 k in -20, not a problem if you are used to this climate. Have a merry Christmas 👌👍

:QOD: my coldest day running in Calgary Canada was -50 with the windchill. I would rather run in the cold than the dreadmill

QoD - I believe 2 degrees below zero Fahrenheit is the coldest temperature I have ever run in. In my part of NJ it the temperatures rarely fall below zero. I have run many times when it has been in the single digits. The cold never bothered me, I actually enjoy it, but the wind is another story.

QOD: I have run in sub 0 degree temps on several occasions. The coldest for me is -20°F with the wind chill. The key I’ve found for me is a semi loose face covering which gives the air a split second to warm a few degrees as you exhale and inhale.

QOD: Coldest run ever for me was -22°f, ambient. I don't recall it being very windy. This morning, however, was challenging. It was -10°f with an 18 mph NW wind.

-32 last week was the coldest I've experienced. Got to say though, at no point did I feel cold during the run. No such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes!

Winter training in North Dakota I’ve learned that how cold it is outside and how cold I feel are two different things. Coldest temperature I’ll run in is about -10 F if it’s not windy. Coldest I ever felt was a couple of months ago: 19 F (3 F wind chill), 80% humidity, 20 MPH wind-after 17 miles in that I was as chilled as I have ever been. Numb fingers, numb toes, frozen eyelashes. Weather is by far the greatest challenge in my training.

Watched this after running in the rain with the temperature dropping and the wind really howling! In the winter, I always remember I could be out running in 90 degree plus temperatures with 100% humidity. In the summer, I'm always great full that I'm not out running in 20 below with huge winds! It's all a matter of perspective!

I’m in sunny Southern California. Sorry folks. It’s like 55 degrees at 4 am…. For us that is freezing…. Well…. At least we think it is. We complain if the weather is below 70 degrees 😮

QD: I have lived in Florida for almost 14 years, so not too cold. But we are visiting family in Indiana over Christmas and this morning I did a short 2.4 mile run at -8F with windchill of -40F. Yep, pretty nippy. Mittens instead of gloves would have been the only thing I would have changed. I have them now for tomorrow.

Thanks for another great vlog! I liked hearing your thoughts on being mindful about gear and about adding to your rolodex. QD: I can’t quite pinpoint my toughest run, but usually it’s a bit harder for me to want to run when it’s both very cold (like -10° F) and dark. However, I am always very glad that I went out, and knowing that I have done it before adds to me knowing that I can do it again. Layering and no exposed skin makes all the difference!

My wife and I live in Canada so if we don’t run in the cold we can’t run. We draw the line at -25C but we usually don’t run more than 10k in that kind of cold. My coldest run so far was in -27C. And as cold as it was it’s fun to know that you are capable of such a thing. Stay warm

QD. Living in Manitoba, Canada we can get both extremes between Summer and Winter but I have done a couple runs when it’s hit -40 C with and without windchill. I’ve seen a few comments by my fellow Canadians. Hardy bunch! I have grown up with prairie Winters and you learn the proper way to layer and cover up. I know some people in my community thick I’m crazy for running when it gets frosty like we’re getting now but with I don’t venture too far away from home and try to stay in more sheltered areas.
